Bengaluru, May 1, 2025 — The Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Results 2025 are set to be declared on May 2 at 11:30 AM, according to the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB). This year, approximately 8.96 lakh students participated in the SSLC examinations, which took place from March 21 to April 4, 2025.
The results will be accessible online starting at 12:30 PM on May 2 via the official portal, karresults.nic.in. Students will need to enter their registration number and date of birth to view their marksheets.
Madhu Bangarappa, the Minister for School Education and Literacy, will officially announce the results at the KSEAB office in Bengaluru. The evaluation process involved about 65,000 assessors working at 240 centers to ensure a thorough and fair assessment of the answer scripts.
Students can check their results through several methods. Besides the online portal, they can also receive their results via SMS by sending "KSEEB10 " to 56263. Additionally, results will be available on the DigiLocker app, where students can log in to download their digital marksheets.
The grading system for the Karnataka SSLC Results 2025 is as follows:
To pass, students must score at least 35 marks in each subject and a minimum aggregate of 175 marks. Following the announcement of results, students who do not pass will have the opportunity to register for supplementary exams scheduled for June and July.
This year's results hold significant implications for nearly 9 lakh students, determining eligibility for admission to Pre-University Colleges (PUC) and diploma courses, as well as being necessary for applications to government scholarships and schemes.
Last year, the SSLC results were released on May 9, 2024, with an overall pass percentage of 73.40%. Girls outperformed boys, achieving an 81% pass rate compared to 65% for boys. Udupi district recorded the highest pass rate at 94%, while Yadagiri had the lowest at 50.59%.
In comparison to previous years, the 2025 results are expected to reflect a slight decline in the overall pass percentage. In 2023, the pass rate was 83.89%, while in 2022, it reached 85.13%. The drop from these figures has raised questions about the impact of educational disruptions caused by the pandemic, which affected academic performance across the state.
As students eagerly await their results, schools are preparing to distribute original marksheets once the online results are published. Additionally, KSEAB is expected to release statistics regarding district-wise toppers and performance data categorized by gender.
