Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on commissioners to increase their efforts toward implementing development projects aimed at improving the lives of residents in Kano State. Governor Yusuf made this appeal during the closing session of a training workshop organized for commissioners and senior civil servants held in Kaduna.
Recognizing the significance of leadership skills acquired during the workshop, he urged the commissioners to apply what they learned to their respective ministries. The governor reiterated his government’s commitment to exemplary leadership and promoting strategies to improve Kano’s economy.
Highlighting the importance of effective revenue generation, Governor Yusuf commended the state’s revenue collection agency, headed by Dr. Zaid Abubakar, for their impressive achievement of generating over 3.5 billion Naira monthly for the state.
On another note, Governor Yusuf donated N2 million to Mu’assasatu Balarabe Bello Hamza Islamic School on Sokoto Road during the Qur’anic graduation ceremony for 13 students on Sunday. Represented by Education Commissioner Ali Haruna Makoda, he emphasized the importance of learning the Holy Qur’an and applying its teachings to everyday life.
Governor Yusuf congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to broaden their knowledge beyond religious studies. Certificates were presented to the 13 graduates at the event, highlighting their achievements.
Head Teacher Mallam Jamilu Yusha’u noted the school's founding was inspired by the late Balarabe Bello Hamza who provided extra lessons for children during holidays. He prayed for the deceased's forgiveness and acknowledged the good work he did for the benefit of humanity.
Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo, the Director-General of Protocol at Kano Government House, expressed appreciation for Yusuf’s donation, reflecting on the commitment of his administration to improve the educational sector within the state.
