The highly anticipated opening ceremony of the Kai Tak Sports Park is set to take place on the evening of March 1, 2025, at 6:30 PM. This landmark event marks the culmination of years of planning and development, bringing forth one of Hong Kong’s most state-of-the-art sports facilities. The opening ceremony will be broadcasted live, providing access to a wider audience through four local free television channels, including Hong Kong Radio 32, HOY TV, TVB's Jade Channel, and ViuTV 99, starting at 9:30 PM.

Prior to the official opening, visitors will have the chance to experience the park’s exterior through a spectacular LED light show from February 26 to 28, 2025. Each night, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, the facade of the main venue will be illuminated, setting the stage for the grand opening.

Once open, the Kai Tak Sports Park will host several exciting events throughout March. Kicking off the schedule is the World Grand Prix Snooker Tournament taking place from March 4 to 9, attracting top players and snooker fans alike. Following this, on March 16, participants will have the opportunity to take part in the thrilling "Kai Tak Flying Steps Run,” which promises to be both exhilarating and community-oriented. Just days later, on March 28 to 30, the park will welcome visitors for the Hong Kong International Sevens, showcasing some of the best rugby talent from around the world.

It’s no surprise the opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park is viewed as a milestone for Hong Kong sports and public recreation. Local officials have expressed their enthusiasm about the park serving as a hub for both professional and amateur activities, hoping it will inspire more residents to engage with sports.

The anticipation surrounding the opening ceremony has been met with excitement from the local populace, eager to explore the sports park and its multitude of facilities including indoor arenas, outdoor fields, and recreational spaces.

Tickets for the events held at the park will be available to the public, but it has been noted by local authorities, including Sports Commissioner Ms. Lo Shuk-pui,23, "These tickets will not be designated for individual resale; instead, they are transferable among friends and family. This policy helps us to keep the incoming sports events accessible and vibrant, offering everyone the chance to experience sport at its best.”

For those eager to learn more about the events, detailed schedules are available on the official Kai Tak Sports Park website, where fans and participants can also find ticketing information. The website promises to offer updated insights on upcoming attractions and facility availability, making it easier for the community to stay informed.
