Justyna Kowalczyk-Tekieli Returns To Public Life On TVN

The celebrated athlete prepares for her first interview since her husband's death while participating in 'Autentyczni' program.

The REPI Foundation team recently participated in the eighth installment of the popular program "Autentyczni," where participants from Tarnów took on the roles of journalists, interviewing notable figures such as renowned skier Justyna Kowalczyk-Tekieli and actor Maciej Zakościelny. This time, the team traveled to Warsaw, feeling less stressed than in previous episodes, thanks to their growing experience in the show. They had already participated in six episodes, interviewing a variety of celebrities, including Robert Makłowicz, Natalia Kukulska, Marcin Prokop, and Magda Gessler.

Prior to the recording, the participants prepared extensively, conducting their own research online and in newspapers to formulate original and engaging questions. Marzena Szewczyk, a therapist from the Jan Paweł II Occupational Therapy Workshop, shared, "They analyzed workshop materials thoroughly and delved into the subject matter to prepare as well as possible and come up with interesting questions." This dedication was evident as seven participants from Tarnów—Wojtek Gibała, Krzysztof Mitera, Edward Lusztyn, Kamil Cedrowski, Justyna Pałka, Michał Misiewicz, and Dawid Nieć—embarked on their journey to the capital for the program's recording.

Despite the bright lights and cameras, the participants felt a sense of responsibility and excitement. Kamil Cedrowski, a journalist on "Autentyczni," remarked, "We felt more responsible for ourselves. Our hands went up automatically to ask questions." Justyna Pałka added, "I enjoy searching for information about the stars invited to the program. I feel I’ve opened up more and am not as nervous as I was the first time." The supportive atmosphere among the group helped them navigate the challenges of filming, with participants encouraging one another through the process.

As they recorded the program, the participants maintained a cheerful demeanor, relying on each other for support. Michał Misiewicz expressed his enthusiasm for future episodes, stating, "I would like to participate in more episodes." The program has seen participation from dozens of individuals on the autism spectrum from various parts of Poland. The new episodes featuring the Tarnów residents are set to premiere during Easter, on April 20 and 21, 2025, at 11:30 AM on TVN.

In a separate yet related development, Justyna Kowalczyk-Tekieli has made headlines by agreeing to participate in "Autentyczni" after a significant hiatus from the public eye following the tragic death of her husband, Kacper Tekieli. Kowalczyk-Tekieli, a celebrated athlete with numerous medals to her name, focused on raising her child alone after the loss of her husband, who died during a mountaineering expedition. Her re-emergence into the public sphere comes nearly two years after this personal tragedy.

Reports indicate that Kowalczyk-Tekieli will provide her first public interview since her husband’s passing. According to RMF FM, she will discuss her feelings of longing, her new reality, and her withdrawal from public life. This appearance is particularly poignant as it marks a significant moment for the athlete, who had largely stepped back from media engagements to care for her son.

The show "Autentyczni" features hosts who are individuals on the autism spectrum, providing a unique perspective and format. Originally hosted by Maciej Stuhr, the show has seen Dorota Wellman take over hosting duties, which has sparked considerable discussion among audiences. The timing of the new episodes coincides with Easter, making it a fitting occasion for a program that emphasizes authenticity and personal stories.

As the premiere date approaches, excitement builds around both the new episodes of "Autentyczni" and Kowalczyk-Tekieli's return to the spotlight. Her participation is not just about her story but also represents a broader narrative of resilience and the importance of community support. The REPI Foundation team’s involvement in the show highlights the potential for individuals with autism to thrive in creative roles, while Kowalczyk-Tekieli’s story serves as an inspiration for many navigating their own challenges.

In summary, the upcoming episodes of "Autentyczni" promise to deliver heartfelt stories and showcase the talents of its participants. With Justyna Kowalczyk-Tekieli's much-anticipated interview, viewers will gain insight into her journey of healing and adaptation following her husband's death. The show aims to foster understanding and acceptance while celebrating the unique contributions of all its participants.
