On February 3, known as 'Level Crossing Day', the company launched a series of activities aimed at educating the public about the importance of adhering to safety protocols at these potentially hazardous intersections.
The campaign unfolded early on the morning of February 3 at the Teruji level crossing located on the Nippō Main Line in Oita city. A group of ten participants, which included members from the local police railroad unit and staff from JR Kyushu, were present to relay the gravity of complying with level crossing regulations. They urged drivers to come to a complete stop before entering the crossing and to verify whether any trains were approaching.
Despite Japan's reputation for advanced rail safety, there has been cause for concern due to the frequency of incidents at railway crossings.
