According to JR Kyushu, the outage was reported at approximately 4:24 PM, affecting the area between Goichi Station and Kokubu Station. This disruption immediately impacted several train lines, halting operations and leaving many passengers stranded.
Reports indicate the outage resulted in the cancellation of two express trains and five local trains, affecting around 1,300 passengers. Details from JR Kyushu highlighted, "Due to the power outage, train services have been temporarily suspended between West Miyakonojo and Kokubu," showcasing the extent of the disruptions.
