Jordan Dawson Shines With Perfect Coaches Votes For Crows Win

Dawson leads Adelaide's dominant victory over St Kilda with outstanding performance and ten votes.

Adelaide skipper Jordan Dawson scored the top marks with perfect scores during Round One of the AFL Coaches Votes after leading the Crows to a resounding 63-point victory against St Kilda at the Adelaide Oval on March 16, 2025.

Dawson's performance was nothing short of stellar; he compiled 27 disposals, four tackles, nine marks, and seven clearances, amassing 648 metres gained and scoring two goals. His exceptional efforts on the field earned him ten coaches' votes, highlighting his leadership and skill.

Alongside Dawson, fellow Adelaide midfielder Jake Soligo also made headlines by receiving eight coaches' votes. Soligo, with 29 possessions, exhibited his versatility and tenacity with eight score involvements, eight tackles, and one goal, whilst contributing 549 metres gained. His aggressive play style and consistency on the field did not go unnoticed.

Meanwhile, forward Josh Rachele was acknowledged for his significant impact on the game, garnering four votes. Rachele contributed 12 score involvements, provided four goal assists, and found the goal himself twice, showcasing his prowess as both scorer and playmaker.

Not to be outdone, Izak Rankine received three votes after amassing 28 disposals along with five tackles, seven clearances, and two goals. His dynamic gameplay was integral to the Crows' overwhelming success.

Ruck Reilly O'Brien was also recognized with three votes for his role, facilitating the game with 47 hit-outs and five clearances, effectively controlling the ruck contests to give his team the upper hand.

Defender Josh Worrell rounded out the successful vote-getters for Adelaide, receiving one vote for his solid defensive display, which included nine intercepts, 25 disposals, and six marks, demonstrating his ability to thwart St Kilda's advances.

Significantly, Darcy Wilson from St Kilda also registered one coach vote for his contributions during the match, indicating the respect for performances regardless of the match outcome.
