Joe Rogan Triggers Curiosity On Ancient Egypt And Dragons

Rogan’s podcast discusses ancient advancements and the bizarre possibility of living in simulations.

On the latest episodes of the popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, host Joe Rogan engages with diverse guest viewpoints, touching on ancient civilizations, the possibility of simulated reality, as well as some intriguing current events.

Episode #2244 featured Rogan discussing with Ryan Graves, former U.S. Navy lieutenant and F/A-18F pilot, the technological sophistication of ancient Egypt. Graves posits the idea, commonly echoed by Rogan, which challenges the notion of linear technological progression. They delved deeply, questioning how such monumental structures like the Pyramids were erected without modern tools. Rogan exclaimed, “The best evidence... exists—you can go touch it with your hand; you can see photographs of it online. We don’t know what the f— they did, and whatever they did was super advanced for 4,500 years ago.”

Rogan’s fascination with the Pyramids mirrors humanity’s persistent curiosity about these marvels, constructed as tombs for pharaohs. Yet, the operational techniques and materials used by the ancient Egyptians are largely speculative. With thousands of tons of stone utilized, how the ancients achieved such feats remains unclear even today, leading Rogan and many others to ponder the sheer human ingenuity involved.

Another captivating theory discussed on the podcast was the existence of dragons. On episode #2227, with guest Adrienne Iapalucci, Rogan toyed with the notion of dragons being real creatures, migrating beyond myth. Citing historical connections across cultures, he pointed out, “The commonality... is depicted... in historical textbooks.” He is intrigued by the idea of variants of dragons being present around the world, mentioning observations posited by wildlife biologist Forest Galant. Notably, instead of the fire-breathing depictions, Rogan suggests these dragons could have resembled crocodile-like reptiles capable of flight.

Venturing beyond myths, Rogan and special guest Julian Lennon explored the concept of living within a simulated reality during episode discussions, where Rogan revealed, “Elon Musk mentioned... the odds of us not being in a simulation are in the billions.” After speaking with the illustrious Tesla CEO on episode #1169, Rogan embraced this notion wholeheartedly. Musk proposed the idea of advanced simulations being indistinguishable from reality — a thought echoed among other thought leaders, reinforcing Rogan’s burgeoning belief. Neil deGrasse Tyson even mentioned there’s “50-50 odds about” the hypothesis being potentially correct.

The conversation boldly aligns with contemporary thoughts facilitated by technology reveling under the starlit arms of the universe. Although no strong evidence confirms the simulation hypothesis, its speculative nature feels most engrossing, especially alongside technological discussions of the future and the impending Metaverse.

Turning to pressing current events, Rogan discussed the murder case against Luigi Mangione on The Tim Dillon Show, where he conveyed skepticism about Mangione’s mental state, declaring, “It’s pretty obvious... there’s video of him doing it.” Their discussion navigated the ramifications of mental illness and the public’s perception, with Mangione surprisingly gaining hero status among some segments, depicting rebellion against perceived systemic failings.

Rogan’s alignment with current societal interpretations extends to his dialogue featuring Rod Blagojevich on episode #2245, where the former governor made harsh accusations against Barack Obama. Blagojevich stated, “Obama doesn’t come across as evil, but he does come across as very selfish...” He then called out Obama for being “a snake and ingrate, who sold out his friend.” Rogan didn’t refute Blagojevich’s assertion, rather amplified the sentiments questioning current political figures, even admitting to growing fondness for Donald Trump, who he initially viewed skeptically.

Throughout multiple episodes, Rogan continues to meld thought-provoking theories with contemporary commentary, whether questioning the boundaries of historical ingenuity or analyzing present-day social consequences. Themes of technology, politics, mythology, and mental health steadily weave through his dialogues, inviting audiences to reflect deeply about their beliefs and societal structures, creating connections across diverse discussions. What remains palpable is Rogan's unique ability to amalgamate curiosity with skepticism, and through these discussions, he urges listeners to challenge their perspectives on reality itself.
