BTS star Jin is officially gearing up for a major career milestone: his debut solo world tour. The announcement has set fans into a frenzy as the beloved vocalist prepares to hit the stage solo for the very first time across Asia, the U.S., and Europe. Titled “#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,” the tour name cleverly pays tribute to Jin’s YouTube content series, Run Jin, and comes in support of his much-anticipated second solo studio album, Echo, which is scheduled for release on May 16, 2025.
The global concert series will kick off on June 28, 2025, with back-to-back performances in Goyang, South Korea, at the Goyang Auxiliary Stadium. Following his homecoming shows, Jin will perform two nights each in Chiba and Osaka, Japan, before making his way to the United States in July. The U.S. leg starts with two shows in Anaheim, California, on July 17 and 18, followed by stops in Dallas (July 22–23), Tampa (July 26–27), and Newark, New Jersey (July 30–31). European fans can catch the superstar in London for two dates at the O2 Arena on August 5 and 6, and then in Amsterdam on August 9 and 10.
According to a report by Consequence, full ticketing details, including pre-sale and general sale information, will be officially released on April 22, 2025. Fans are advised to stay tuned for updates as demand is expected to skyrocket.
This solo endeavor follows Jin’s highly successful debut album, Happy, which was released in November 2024 and celebrated for its upbeat, feel-good energy. He also recently appeared on the Netflix reality show Kian’s Bizarre B&B, adding another layer to his evolving solo identity.
However, while many fans are excited about Jin’s upcoming tour, it has also raised concerns regarding the future of BTS as a group. On April 17, 2025, Jin announced his first-ever solo concert, RUNSEOKJIN_EP TOUR, via his agency BIGHIT MUSIC. This concert will be held across South Korea, Japan, North America, and Europe, spanning over 18 nights from June to August 2025.
After much speculation about BTS’s world tour as a band to celebrate their 12th anniversary, FESTA 2025, Jin’s announcement left many fans baffled. The rumors about the BTS group reunion and their world tour started to circulate after the band asked fans to fill up a questionnaire with a set of 12 questions on April 10, 2025, one of which was about the concerts. Many fans speculated that this was a hint at a potential world tour following Suga’s discharge from the military on June 21, 2025, especially since June is BTS’s FESTA month.
However, with Jin’s solo tour occupying his schedule, fans are questioning whether a group reunion and world tour will happen this year. Online discussions have erupted, with some fans expressing their belief that a world tour for BTS will not occur until next year. One fan tweeted, “BTS World Tour this year will not happen. 100% NEXT YEAR.” Others speculate that the members may focus on solo tours before embarking on a group tour, with one fan commenting, “Maybe all the members will do a solo tour before doing an OT7 tour.”
Adding to the uncertainty, HYBE Labels' CFO, Lee Kyung Joon, recently commented during the annual general shareholders' meeting held on March 31, 2025, that they are still in the process of discussing the group's promotion plans for 2026. He stated, "We are still in the process of discussing the group's promotion plans for 2026. Therefore, we do not have any projections laid out at this time." This statement has heightened concerns among fans regarding a lack of full-group new album release and world tour in 2025.
HYBE’s CEO, Lee Jae Sang, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the need for the members to carefully consider their next move before embarking on extensive activities like a world tour or full-length album drop. He shared, “BTS members will return after completing their military service and they will need time to prepare. We are preparing by discussing with top-tier composers, but the artists need to think carefully and prepare.”
Earlier, rumors suggested BTS was gearing up for exciting activities to celebrate their 12th anniversary FESTA in 2025, potentially including a world tour. However, with Jin’s upcoming solo commitments and the CFO’s comments, it appears that fans may have to wait longer for a full-group comeback.
Jin’s RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR encompasses 18 nights, making it highly unlikely that he will be able to embark on another tour with his fellow band members immediately after. As fans eagerly anticipate Jin's solo performances, they are left grappling with the uncertainty of BTS's future as a group.
In the meantime, fans continue to express their hopes for a group tour, with many stating they prefer a joint concert experience over individual solo tours. One fan lamented, “I want a group tour more than solo tours. Since they also said they want to return to group activities soon, I don’t think the other members will go on solo tours.” As discussions around Jin's solo tour and the future of BTS unfold, the ARMY remains hopeful for the return of their beloved group in the near future.
