Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sánchez Set For Lavish Venice Wedding

The couple prepares for a star-studded ceremony aboard a $500 million yacht this summer.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are set to host one of the most talked-about weddings of the summer, with plans for a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy. The couple, who have been dating since 2019, are preparing to exchange vows aboard Bezos's $500 million mega yacht, Koru, which has become a focal point of their nuptial plans.

As reported by Page Six, the wedding is expected to take place in late June, with pre-wedding festivities kicking off weeks in advance. In a unique pre-wedding gift, Bezos is reportedly taking Sánchez to space aboard his Blue Origin rocket. The upcoming mission, which will feature an all-female crew including Gayle King and Katy Perry, is scheduled for May 2025, although the exact date has yet to be confirmed. Tickets for the Blue Origin flights are known to cost into six figures, making this a truly extravagant gift.

While early rumors suggested a winter wedding in Colorado, those plans faded due to extensive prenup negotiations, given Bezos's staggering $223 billion fortune. Now, the couple is gearing up for a wedding that promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Local media have reported that the ceremony will take place aboard the Koru, anchored in the Venetian Lagoon, although some sources indicate that the yacht may only serve as a water taxi for guests.

According to the Daily Mail, two of Venice's most luxurious hotels, the Gritti Palace and the seven-star Aman, are fully booked from June 26 to June 29, suggesting that these venues will play a significant role in the celebrations. A local source noted, "I promise you the wedding is not on the boat," emphasizing the importance of location and views in Venice.

The guest list for the wedding reads like a who's who of Hollywood and Washington, D.C. Expected attendees include celebrities such as Jewel, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, and Eva Longoria. Political figures like Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are also rumored to be on the list, along with models Brooks Nader and Camila Morrone, and film producer Brian Grazer.

In a recent outing, Sánchez was spotted dining with her longtime friend Eva Longoria in Beverly Hills, further highlighting the star-studded nature of her social circle. During their dinner, Sánchez, who recently chose a wedding dress reportedly designed by Oscar de la Renta with guidance from Vogue's Anna Wintour, appeared in high spirits as she approaches her wedding day.

The couple's wedding plans have garnered significant attention, with Sánchez's brother, Paul Sánchez, describing the event as "star-studded" and "fun," comparing it to the grand wedding of Princess Diana. Meanwhile, Bezos's previous connections to Sánchez have been noted, as he met her through her then-husband Patrick Whitesell, a Hollywood agent, during a holiday party in 2016.

Local officials in Venice have confirmed that at least four luxury hotels have been booked out for the event, and the city's fleet of water taxis will be utilized to transport approximately 250 guests. Morris Ceron, director general of the Venice council, revealed that he had been in contact with fashion designer Domenico Dolce, who helped persuade Bezos to choose Venice for the wedding. Ceron noted, "Seven months ago, Domenico Dolce told me Bezos was getting married. I got to work to bring this marriage of the century to Venice — that’s how it started."

In addition to the Koru, other potential wedding venues include the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, which offers privacy and stunning views but has a policy against hosting weddings. The couple will be working with Lanza & Baucina, a London-based agency known for organizing discreet high-profile events.

As the couple prepares for their wedding, they continue to share their affection for one another. In a past interview, Sánchez expressed her excitement about becoming Mrs. Bezos, stating, "Uh, yes, 100 percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos." Bezos, too, has spoken fondly of Sánchez, calling her "the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet." He further emphasized their strong partnership, saying, "We're really great teammates, and we also have a lot of fun together. And we love each other."

With plans for a wedding that promises to be a defining social event of 2025, the couple's love story continues to capture the public's imagination. As they prepare for their nuptials, all eyes will be on Venice, where the world's elite will gather to celebrate the union of two prominent figures.
