The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the impending application correction dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 2. According to the NTA's recent notice, candidates can modify their applications on February 27 and 28, 2025, through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam is slated for April 1 to April 8, 2025, with results expected on April 17. Notably, the application submission window for this session will close tomorrow, February 25, and all candidates are encouraged to complete their registrations as soon as possible.
"This opportunity to modify the application is provided for all those candidates who have either registered for Session 2 or who participated in Session 1 of JEE Main 2025," the official statement reads. Candidates should exercise caution when making changes as no additional correction opportunities will be permitted once the window closes.
For applicants wishing to edit their forms, they will need to access their accounts using their login credentials, including their application number and password. Candidates from both sessions will have the ability to update various items such as their choice of paper, medium of the exam, state code of eligibility, and their preferred examination cities.
New applicants who did not previously register for Session 1 must note the specifics of what they can and cannot change on their forms. Mobile numbers, email addresses, and certain personal details like the permanent address cannot be altered. Nevertheless, they can change their name, educational qualifications, gender, and more within the stipulated guidelines.
Shiksha, an educational platform, recently conducted polls indicating high engagement among students, with many anticipating improvements to their scores for meeting the necessary JEE Advanced cutoffs. Of those surveyed, around 40% indicated plans to retake the JEE Main exam this April. These figures highlight the intense competition, as students strive for qualifications necessary to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
The JEE Advanced examination is particularly significant as it serves as the gateway to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Advanced examination will occur on May 18, with registrations beginning on April 23. Candidates need to achieve specific cutoffs set by the NTA to qualify for JEE Advanced.
This year’s JEE Advanced qualification requirements are pronounced. For General candidates, last year the cutoff was 93.23, and for OBC candidates, it was slightly lower at around 79.68. The cutting scores for economically weaker sections and other categories stand similarly, as aspirants scramble to assess their strengths.
Despite the stress, 23% of the respondents from the Shiksha poll have expressed confidence in their chances of clearing the cutoffs required for JEE Advanced, advocating strategic preparation as the key to success. This shows a steady focus on meeting the necessary benchmarks.
The JEE Main Session 1 results were unveiled on February 11, featuring 100 percentile scorers primarily from Rajasthan. With 14 candidates achieving this score across the board, the results highlighted the variations across different states.
Interestingly, the NTA has recorded discrepancies, stating several results were withheld due to cheating allegations. This point brings to light the increasing scrutiny and need for integrity within these examinations.
With data reflected from the applicants across various demographics, including over 4 lakh female candidates, it seems competition is rising, raising awareness among students to aim high and to understand the competitive scenario thoroughly.
With each passing day, the excitement builds, and the deadline for registration fast approaches. Students should be urged to check their details thoroughly during the correction window to avoid any pitfalls and maximize their chances of success.
Lastly, participants planning on the JEE Advanced are encouraged to regularly monitor updates on cutoffs and results as they become available, ensuring they stay informed and well-prepared.
