JEE Main Session 2 Result 2025 Set For Release Today

NTA to announce results along with final answer key and cut-off scores for engineering aspirants

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session 2 result for 2025 is set to be declared today, April 17, 2025, by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates who took the exam can access their results on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Along with the results, the NTA will release the final answer key, cut-off scores, and a list of top performers.

The JEE Main session 2 examinations were conducted from April 2 to April 9, 2025, covering various papers including Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech and Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Planning. The exams took place in 285 cities across India and 15 international locations at a total of 531 centers. The first shift of the exam was held from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second shift from 3 PM to 6 PM, with a single shift for Paper 2 on April 9.

In a recent announcement, the NTA clarified the status of the provisional answer key, which was released on April 11, 2025. Candidates were given until April 13 to submit objections regarding the provisional key. The agency emphasized that the final results would be based solely on the final answer key, stating, "The provisional answer key is subject to change, and final scores will be calculated based on the final answer key only. Drawing conclusions from the provisional key is not advisable." This statement comes in response to numerous complaints from students who reported discrepancies in their answer sheets, with some candidates alleging that their response sheets were displayed as 'blank'.

As the results are released, students will be able to check their scores by entering their login details on the NTA's official site. The JEE Main results are crucial as they determine eligibility for undergraduate engineering programs at prestigious institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main will qualify to sit for the JEE Advanced 2025, which is scheduled for May 18, 2025.

The JEE Main 2025 scoring system awards four marks for each correct answer, while one mark is deducted for every incorrect response. Candidates who leave questions unanswered do not incur any penalties. For instance, a candidate scoring 50 marks can expect a percentile ranking between 70.27 and 84.23, while those scoring 100 marks might see their percentile range between 94.40 and 95.64, with estimated ranks between 61,651 and 79,298.

The JEE Main exam is a significant gateway for engineering aspirants, with last year's exam facilitating admissions to over 59,937 engineering seats across 121 institutes. This included 32 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 40 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). The JEE Main cut-off scores will be released after the results, providing essential information for students aiming for admission to these institutions.

Moreover, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct counseling for admissions to 118 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, and 26 IIITs, based on JEE Main scores. The counseling process will consist of five rounds, with opening and closing ranks announced after each round. This system is crucial for ensuring that students are placed in their desired programs according to their performance.

With the results expected to be released today, students are advised to stay updated by regularly checking the NTA's official website. The anticipation surrounding the results is palpable, especially for those who have invested significant effort into their preparation.

As the JEE Main session 2 results roll out, the NTA is also preparing to address any further concerns regarding the exam process, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and fairness in the examination system. Candidates who encounter difficulties accessing their results are encouraged to reach out to the NTA's helpline at 011-40759000 or via email at [email protected].

Overall, the JEE Main 2025 results will mark a pivotal moment for countless aspiring engineers, shaping their future educational and career paths.
