The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the JEE Main 2025 Session 2, providing a sigh of relief to countless engineering aspirants across India. After weeks of anticipation, students can now access their scorecards online, which include crucial details such as individual NTA scores, All India Ranks (AIR), category-wise cut-offs, and information about the top scorers.
The JEE Main, conducted in two sessions each year, serves as a gateway for students aiming to secure admissions in various engineering institutes, including the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). This year, the JEE Main Session 2 exam took place from April 2 to April 9, 2025.
On April 11, the provisional answer key was released, followed by the final answer key on April 17. The long-awaited JEE Main 2025 result was made available on April 18, 2025, at the official NTA website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
To check their results, candidates need to follow a straightforward process:
- Visit the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link for "JEE Main 2025 Result Session 2."
- Enter your application number and date of birth.
- Submit the details, and your scorecard will appear on the screen.
- Download and save a copy for future reference.
In case the main site is slow, students can also use alternate websites like ntaresults.nic.in and nta.ac.in to access their results.
The scorecard contains vital information, including:
- Name and roll number of the candidate.
- Application number.
- Subject-wise NTA scores (out of 100 percentile).
- Total NTA score.
- Category and gender.
- All India Rank (AIR).
- Cut-off marks for JEE Advanced.
- Status: Eligible or Not Eligible for JEE Advanced.
For candidates who appeared in both sessions, the NTA will consider the best score among the two for final ranking. The NTA has also released the official category-wise qualifying cut-off for appearing in JEE Advanced:
These cut-off scores are based on percentile rather than raw marks, and candidates who meet the cut-off can register for JEE Advanced 2025, which opens on April 23, 2025.
Among the candidates, approximately 56 students achieved a perfect score of 100 percentile. Most of these toppers hail from states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. All students who scored 100 percentile are eligible for JEE Advanced, and their names and states are listed on the official site in a separate PDF.
For students who qualify, the next steps are crucial:
- Check if you are eligible for JEE Advanced.
- If eligible, register for JEE Advanced starting from April 23, 2025.
- If not eligible, prepare for JoSAA counselling for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
- Explore state-level counselling options like DTE Maharashtra, UPSEE, etc.
- Research college cut-offs from previous years to shortlist your options.
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will conduct counselling after the JEE Advanced results. However, students who cleared only JEE Main can still participate for NITs and IIITs. It is expected that JoSAA 2025 registration may begin by the second week of June, with seat allotment based on AIR, category, preferences, and seat availability.
As students check their results, they are encouraged to stay focused and compare their scores with the cut-offs to plan their next moves wisely. The JEE Main 2025 result is valid for the current academic year for admissions into the 2025–26 session, and candidates can apply for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA using their JEE Main results.
For any issues, candidates can use the “Forgot Application Number” or “Forgot Password” options available on the NTA website. The JEE Main 2025 results are not just a reflection of academic performance but also a stepping stone towards fulfilling their aspirations in the engineering field.
