JEE Main 2025 April Session Exam Begins With Moderate Difficulty

NTA conducts first shift of JEE Main 2025, students report manageable exam experience

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully conducted the first shift of the JEE Main 2025 April session exam today, April 2, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates who appeared for the BTech and BE papers have provided feedback on the exam's difficulty level, which they rated as moderate overall. The exam was conducted smoothly without any reported technical glitches.

Following the completion of the first shift, candidates are now eagerly awaiting the analysis and answer keys for the exam. The second shift is scheduled to begin at 3 PM and will conclude at 6 PM. For those participating in this shift, it is crucial to arrive at the exam center by 1:30 PM, as the gates will close at 2:30 PM.

According to the exam schedule, the JEE Main Session 2 will take place in two shifts each day, with the BTech and BE papers being held on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8, while the BArch and BPlanning papers are set for April 9, 2025. The admit cards for these exams were released and are valid until April 4, 2025.

In the first shift, students reported that the Mathematics section was particularly lengthy, with significant focus on Calculus and Coordinate Geometry. Physics questions were deemed moderately challenging, covering topics such as Mechanics and Thermodynamics, while Chemistry was considered easier, with many questions based on NCERT guidelines.

Students expressed a sense of relief as the difficulty level remained consistent with expectations set by previous exams. Many candidates are optimistic about achieving scores above 200, which is seen as a strong indication for qualifying for the JEE Advanced exam.

As part of the exam guidelines, candidates were only permitted to carry essential items such as the printed admit card, a valid ID proof, a transparent ballpoint pen, a transparent water bottle, and one passport-sized photo into the exam center. Strict dress codes were enforced, prohibiting shoes with thick soles and garments with large buttons, ensuring a smooth frisking process.

The NTA has indicated that the final results for the JEE Main 2025 April session will be announced by April 17, 2025. This will include the cutoff scores required for eligibility in the JEE Advanced exam, which is anticipated to be around 110 to 140 marks out of 300. Candidates need to be among the top 250,000 successful candidates in the BE/BTech paper to qualify for JEE Advanced.

In addition to the exam results, the counseling process for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 will commence on June 3, 2025. The JEE Advanced registration will begin on April 23, 2025, with the last date for submission set for May 2, 2025.

As the second shift approaches, candidates are reminded to adhere strictly to the reporting times and guidelines to ensure a smooth examination experience. The NTA is expected to release the memory-based answer keys and question papers shortly after the conclusion of the second shift.

For those who participated in the first shift, the analysis and student reactions will be available shortly, providing insights into the exam's challenges and highlights. Candidates are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on the JEE Main 2025 April session.
