Javier Gutiérrez Delights Audiences On La Revuelta

Gutiérrez and Watling's humorous delay keeps viewers entertained during their appearance.

Javier Gutiérrez has recently appeared on the popular show La Revuelta, hosted by David Broncano, to share memories from his noteworthy acting career. Known for his roles across numerous acclaimed films and television series, Gutiérrez's visit was meant to promote his new historical comedy series, La vida breve, alongside co-star Leonor Watling. Interestingly, Watling's arrival at the Teatro Príncipe de Gran Vía was delayed due to her prior commitment on another program, La Ventana, leaving Gutiérrez to entertain the audience solo for part of the interview.

During the episode, Broncano humorously lamented, "Teóricamente, son una pareja de actor y actriz. Él está aquí, pero ella está en otra entrevista, en la radio..." highlighting the quirks of show business as he navigated the unexpected absence of Watling. Gutiérrez quickly defended his fellow actor, saying, "Está muy solicitada, porque además viene de presentar los premios Goya," explaining her hectic schedule as justification for her tardiness.

Gutiérrez, whose career has flourished over the years with numerous accolades including two Goya awards, opened up about the bittersweet nature of his cinematic debut. He recalled how his early days were not as glamorous as they might seem today. He humorously looked back at his first film, wherein, after filming three short scenes, his contribution was dramatically reduced to just one brief clip when the movie premiered.

Often regarded as one of Spain's prominent actors, Gutiérrez has garnered attention for his performances not only on stage but also on screen. After working with notable figures like Alberto San Juan and Nathalie Poza during his early career, he reminisced with Broncano about how he felt alongside fellow actors who were already firmly established names at the time of his beginnings.

While waiting for Watling to arrive, Gutiérrez attempted to reach her by phone but ended up sending messages to wrong contacts—a mix-up he recounted, much to Broncano's amusement. The miscommunication provided light-hearted moments among the guests as they addressed the complications of celebrity schedules.

Finally, just as the episode was nearing its end, Watling arrived, breathless but with good humor. "¿Cómo que me estáis esperando? No me fastidies [...] Llego en 10 minutos. Estoy cruzando Gran Vía, te lo prometo," she exclaimed, explaining her rush was caused by having to stop and buy gifts before joining the show. With laughter, the trio combined their banter about the challenges and joy of acting, securing the connection between the actors and the audience.

For Gutiérrez, the evening on La Revuelta was not just about discussing film projects but also about celebrating the chaotic, unpredictable nature of life as an actor. That charm and camaraderie left viewers entertained and eager for more insights from both stars.
