The highly anticipated Japanese film "Frontline," which depicts the front lines of the struggle against an unknown virus, is generating buzz as the production team releases exciting updates. The film, which had its trailer released last December and has surpassed one million views on YouTube, recently unveiled additional cast members, stirring anticipation even higher.

Among the new cast revelations, actress Nana Mori will take on the role of Hiroko Hatori, a crew member working tirelessly to assuage the fears of passengers aboard the ship. Known for her natural acting and captivating charm, Mori reflected on the global pandemic experience, saying, "The sudden emergence of the virus plunged the world Into sadness and chaos, snatching our daily lives away. I experienced days where I lost so much to protect loved ones. This film captures our sadness at the time, but it also honors those who fought hard and believed. I hope it resonates with everyone."

Another notable addition is Yuki Sakurai, cast as Mai Ueno, the news director at the central television news center covering the ship's situation. Sakurai shared her initial reaction to the script, stating, "The eerie sense of urgency I felt when I first read the script has never left me." After watching the completed film, she added, "It’s like I finally confronted what those feelings were. I feel the actions of my character, Ueno, are quite similar to what many felt during those anxious times when they were helplessly consuming the news."

Rie Mimura portrays Sakura Kawamura, a mother traveling with her 6-year-old son. She commented on her unique perspective on the events during the pandemic: "Having had my husband work long hours on disaster response, I stayed updated on COVID-related news. There were many surprising revelations in the script, particularly about the human condition on the ship." Renowned actor Kenichi Takito joins the cast as Dr. Miyata, who accepts the quarantined passengers for treatment. He conveyed his thoughts on experiencing such a significant pandemic, sharing, "This may be the only pandemic of this scale we encounter in our lifetime. The fear I experienced back then is something that's now almost fading from my memory, and it terrifies me to think of forgetting it. Participated in this film is something I am proud of, and I feel it's important to preserve this story for future generations."

Also featured are Otani Shoji and Matsuzaka Tori, who as the commander of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), Yuuki Eriharu, and the Health and Welfare Ministry official, Nobutake Tatematsu, face difficult decisions to save 3,711 lives left on board.
