The Japan Skates Federation announced on December 22, 2023, the representatives for several upcoming international competitions, including the highly anticipated World Championships, which will take place from March 24 to 30, 2025, in Boston, USA, and the Four Continents Championships scheduled for February 23 to 28, 2024, in Seoul, South Korea, as well as the World Junior Championships from February 26 to March 1, 2024, in Debrecen, Hungary.
Among the standout selections for the World Junior Championships is Mao Shimada from the Kinoshita Group, who is aiming for her third consecutive title. The Federation has high hopes for her, as she has showcased remarkable talent and consistency.
On the men's side, Tatsuya Tsutsui, who earned third place at the recent All Japan Championships and has been noted for his ability to maintain stable and impressive performances, is among the representatives. Other notable athletes chosen for the men's event include Riri Nakada and Shun Nakamura from the Kinoshita Academy. For the women, besides Shimada, other representatives are Kaoru Wada from Grand Prix Tokai and Ami Nakai from TOKIO Incaram.

When discussing the World Championships, the selections also included notable skaters for each category: for men's singles, Yuma Kagiyama and Shun Sato, alongside Tsutsui, represent the nation's hopes.
