ITV Confirms Future For Limitless Win And New Royal Drama

Ant & Dec's quiz show will return alongside Natalie Dormer's portrayal of Sarah Ferguson in The Lady.

ITV recently announced exciting developments for two of its popular television series. The broadcaster revealed that Ant & Dec's quiz show, Limitless Win, will return for two more series along with two Christmas specials, one of which will air in December 2025. This decision comes after the concluding fourth series raised mixed reactions from viewers.

Originally premiering in 2022, Limitless Win has captivated audiences with its unique premise that allows contestants to earn unlimited cash by answering questions correctly. However, a single wrong answer could jeopardize everything they've built up. Since its launch, the show has given away over £3.5 million, showcasing its popularity as it was streamed a whopping 13 million times. Yet, despite its viewership numbers, the previous series faced considerable backlash regarding its format and questions.

The much-anticipated fourth series kicked off on January 4, 2025, but concluded rather quickly for some viewers, leading to complaints about its brevity all across social media. For example, viewers took to X to express their disappointment—one user lamented, "End of the series already? Noooooo #LimitlessWin," while another echoed that the season felt too short with their comment, "This series wasn't long #LimitlessWin." The criticisms primarily stemmed from a specific episode where contestants Richard and Lorna faced a question regarding the length of the electrical cable on a standard Henry vacuum cleaner. They debated between the options of eight or ten meters, ultimately choosing eight meters. The show's official answer, however, was ten meters, costing them not just their answer but two lives, and leaving them without a chance to bank the substantial £250,000 prize.

Discontent among fans surfaced again when contestant Khajal answered an easy question incorrectly, stating that a two-pound coin was worth 16 pence. This incorrect response led to viewers feeling frustrated and vocalizing their opinions, with many believing Khajal should have answered correctly, given the simplicity of the question. Nevertheless, with the help of lifelines, she and her partner managed to continue for a bit longer before ultimately exiting the show with no winnings.

Despite the negative feedback, Ant and Dec expressed their enthusiasm about Limitless Win returning. Co-host Anthony McPartlin remarked, “We’re really pleased that Limitless Win is coming back for another two series and some Christmas specials. People stop us all the time saying how much they love the show and play along with their family.” His co-host Declan Donnelly chimed in, sharing his aspirations for their guests: “We’d love to go further up the ladder than we’ve ever been. We want the contestants to go as high as possible! That’s the magic of Limitless Win, you never know, you might just know the exact answer to the question!”

In addition to the excitement surrounding Limitless Win, ITV has also cast Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer to play Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, in its upcoming royal drama, The Lady. The series narrates the tumultuous journey of Jane Andrews, Sarah's former royal dresser who was convicted of murder in 2001 after killing her lover, Thomas Cressman.

ITV announced last year its plans for this royal drama and revealed that BAFTA-winning actress Mia McKenna-Bruce would portray Jane Andrews while Ed Speleers joins the cast as Thomas Cressman. Other notable names in the production include Philip Glenister, Claire Skinner, Laura Aikman, Ophelia Lovibond, Mark Stanley, Daniel Ryan, and Sean Teale.

The Lady promises to delve deeply into the story of how a working-class girl, Jane, transitioned from obscurity to the high echelons of royal society due to her position as a royal dresser at Buckingham Palace, only to lose it after nine years of service. Following her departure, Jane’s life took a dark turn, culminating in her conviction for the murder of Cressman, who she claims was abusive during their relationship.

Having been sentenced to life in prison, Jane reportedly served nine years before escaping from East Sutton Park Prison for three days, only to be captured again. She was eventually released in August 2019 and is currently involved in charitable work with an animal hospital.

The drama highlights the tragic trajectory of Andrews’ life, echoing themes of control and vengeance. After Jane's conviction, Tom's family expressed their struggles with forgiveness. Rick Cressman stated in February, “She’s served her sentence. I can only say she has a life to continue with but the sentence for me and my family continues for the rest of our lives.”

As anticipation builds for both Limitless Win and The Lady, ITV is setting the stage for a lineup that promises to engage and provoke discussions among its viewers.
