The Italian Ministry of Education and Merit has announced the opening of applications for the public competition aimed at filling 1,435 high-qualification official positions, starting from noon on December 16, 2024, until 11:59 PM on January 15, 2025. This recruitment effort is positioned as part of renewals to strengthen the Italian school system for the academic years 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, stated, "Prosegue il nostro impegno per rafforzare il sistema scolastico italiano, per garantire una scuola sempre più qualificata e al passo con le esigenze dei nostri tempi. Questo concorso conferma la centralità dell’istruzione nelle politiche del Governo" (Translation: "Our commitment to strengthening the Italian school system continues, ensuring schools are ever more qualified and up to date with contemporary needs. This competition confirms the centrality of education in the government's policies.")
The 1,435 positions are distributed across various regions, detailing specific availability. For example, Lombardia offers the highest number of positions with 416, followed by Veneto with 173 and Piemonte with 171. Other regions such as Basilicata have no available posts, illustrating the need for targeted educational support.
Eligible candidates must possess relevant academic qualifications, such as traditional degree diplomas, specialized degrees, or master's diplomas as specified. They must also secure international digital literacy certification. Candidates lacking this certification can still apply on the condition they achieve it before being officially hired.
Applications must be submitted through the dedicated online portal at www.inpa.gov.it. Candidates will need to have either Public Digital Identity System (SPID) credentials or Electronic Identity Card (CIE) to complete their applications. It's important to note each candidate is permitted to apply for positions within only one region.
The selection process comprises several phases, including both written and oral tests, along with evaluations of candidates' qualifications. The maximum score available for candidates is 150 points, broken down as follows: 60 points for the written exam, 60 for the oral exam, and 30 points based on qualifications.
This concerted effort reflects the government’s broader strategy to bolster the education sector, ensuring educational staff are properly equipped to handle modern challenges. Notably, this is the second major recruitment announcement within a short span, following another competition opening up 19,032 teaching positions.
Understanding the distribution of available positions highlights the significant regional disparities within Italy, emphasizing the government's focus on maintaining parity across its educational institutions.
The competition plays both a symbolic and practical role, reaffirming the importance of human resources within the Italian educational framework. With the application window open until mid-January 2025, potential candidates must prepare adequately to seize this opportunity.
By maintaining comprehensive protocols and structured evaluations, the Italian educational system is poised to attract qualified individuals dedicated to fostering improved academic environments for future generations.
Through these efforts, the Ministry of Education not only addresses staffing shortages but also aims to contribute to the enhanced quality of education across the country, cultivating talent capable of meeting the demands of today's globalized society.
