Isidro Pitta Signs With Red Bull Bragantino For R$ 30 Million

Cuiabá's star attacker leaves after standout season amid relegation challenges.

Isidro Pitta's move to Red Bull Bragantino has captured the attention of fans and analysts alike, highlighting the competitive nature of Brazil's football market.

The Paraguayan attacker, who made his mark during the 2024 season at Cuiabá with 21 goals and three assists, has now signed with Bragantino after the club secured the most compelling offer, reportedly around R$ 30 million, including performance bonuses.

Prior to Bragantino's successful bid, several Brazilian teams, including Fluminense and Bahia, had expressed interest, but both clubs balked at Cuiabá's high asking price. Reports indicated the Cuiabá team was seeking around R$ 38 million, which was deemed excessive by the interested parties.

According to journalist César Luis Merlo from 'TyC Sports', "Red Bull Bragantino made the most competitive offer and secured Isidro Pitta's signature." This transfer marks Pitta's departure from Cuiabá, where he made notable contributions over two years, including vast experience from 150 matches.

Despite the team's relegation to Série B, Pitta enjoyed individual success, earning five caps for the Paraguayan national team this season, with three being starts. His performance captured the interest of multiple clubs and underscored the player's growing profile within South American football.

"The club has accepted the deal of around R$ 30 million, with bonuses included," confirmed several sources close to the transaction, underscoring the urgency of the deal as Cuiabá processes potential financial needs stemming from their relegation.

His agent, César Arguello, had previously commented on Pitta's situation, saying, "For now, he will remain at Cuiabá. It is his club until there is a proposal acceptable to Cuiabá." This sentiment reflects the fluctuations and uncertainties players face during transfer seasons.

Pitta’s arrival at Bragantino is expected to signal other changes within the squad, particularly concerning Alerrandro, the top scorer of the Brasileirão during his loan at Vitória, who may be sold to make way for Pitta.

The culmination of this deal not only strengthens Bragantino’s offense but also symbolizes significant shifts often witnessed during transition periods for clubs moving between divisions.

Fans of Bragantino can look forward to seeing Pitta's talents on display next season, as the team aims to improve its standing within the Série A, bolstered by Pitta's scoring capabilities forged during his productive tenure at Cuiabá.

This transfer is emblematic of broader trends within Brazilian football, where players such as Pitta frequently become hot commodities following standout performances or due to their clubs' relegation.

With the new season approaching, it will be fascinating to watch how Isidro Pitta integrates with his new teammates and how he can influence Bragantino's scoring potential overall.
