Irwindale Speedway Races Into History With Final Event

The farewell extravaganza marks the end of 25 years of thrilling races and community memories.

IRWINDALE, Calif. — Irwindale Speedway's Farewell Extravaganza featured 14 divisions as the track ran its final racing slate after 25 years of action. Kicking off the events with hot laps, multi-time track champion Trevor Huddleston drove around the track with his father, track president Tim Huddleston, in the passenger seat. The duo capped off the evening with a burnout.

Trevor Huddleston went on to win the 75-lap ARCA Menards Series West feature, finishing ahead of Tyler Reif and NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer by nearly seven seconds. The Crown Vics feature was won by Rider Gardner, who gapped runner-up finisher Robert Rice by over four-and-a-half seconds. Bory Molina snagged the Enduro feature over Gardner.

Skyler Schoppe triumphed in the four-car Jr. Late Model feature, securing the victory against Eli Black, Kellen Keller, and Kourtney Baker. The evening also included two Legends features, with Tyler Reif scoring the first feature win, followed by Jake Bollman's victory over Reif in the second feature. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Lawless Alan placed fifth during the Legends events.

The 20-lap modified feature was claimed by Eric Rhead, who showcased impressive driving skills throughout the race. Meanwhile, the pro late model event, which featured 31 cars, had Jeffrey Peterson leading the pack over Dylan Cappello, with Chad Miller being the only driver to finish on the lead lap of the Skid Plate feature.

Robert Arevalo won the 40-lap Spec Racers feature, with IMSA driver Jagger Jones placing third. Garrett Green took home the victory in the 30-lap Street Stock feature, and John Moore was crowned the winner of the super late model action. Joe Labrosciano snagged the Tucker Tire Figure 8s event, capping off the thrilling day at Irwindale Speedway.

The Farewell Extravaganza not only marked the end of racing at the iconic venue but also served as a nostalgic reminder for many drivers, fans, and families who made countless memories over their years at the speedway. "...my dad, Tim, and I often reminisced about all the great memories we’ve made on this track..." said Trevor Huddleston, as he reflected on the significance of the event.

With cheers, emotions ran high as fans packed the grandstands for one last race day, paying tribute to the racers, the community, and the spirit of Irwindale Speedway.
