In a significant development for education and employment in the region, the IPSSI computer school has officially opened its new premises in Serris, Val d'Europe, on April 9, 2025. The school, known for training students in computer science and cybersecurity, has relocated from its previous sites in Montévrain and Chessy to a more spacious facility at 24-26 cours du Danube, just a stone's throw from the local train station and shopping center.
With nearly 700 square meters of space, the IPSSI school is set to cater to a growing demand for skilled professionals in the tech sector. The school offers a range of programs from Bachelor's to Master's degrees, focusing on areas such as development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and big data. This move comes as the Val d'Europe Agglomeration experiences a surge in business activity, with over 1,000 new companies establishing themselves in the area in 2024.
“It was a real challenge to arrive during the Covid-19 pandemic, but it taught me a lot. Five years later, the adventure is beautiful!” remarked a representative from the school, reflecting on the journey leading to the new campus. The IPSSI school officially opened its doors in February 2024, providing students with a modern learning environment equipped with about ten classrooms.
The proximity of the school to more than 8,000 local businesses is a significant advantage for students. Currently, nearly 30% of the student body resides in the Val d'Europe area, allowing them to take advantage of local internship and job opportunities. The school has established a strong connection with the local business community, regularly hosting job fairs and internships to facilitate student placements.
“Most of our students are placed within the Val d'Europe territory. It’s a source of pride to be located in Serris, which offers easy access to the RER A and a thriving economic environment,” the representative added. This strategic location is particularly appealing to students who prefer to minimize commute times, a sentiment echoed by many young professionals today.
At IPSSI, students are not just learning; they are also encouraged to collaborate across different disciplines. The school regularly organizes joint projects that allow students from various programs to work together, enhancing their teamwork skills and preparing them for the collaborative nature of the tech industry.
Moreover, the school is Qualiopi certified, which means it adheres to high standards in education and training. This certification includes a commitment to follow up with graduates every six months to track their career progress. “We have some very pleasant surprises; generally, a Master's graduate in cybersecurity can expect a starting salary of around 46,000 euros per year, with some even landing positions at prestigious companies like EDF or Hermès, earning around 65,000 euros,” the representative shared.
To attract prospective students, IPSSI actively participates in various educational forums and events. “It’s always a source of pride when we have female students among us. The boys welcome them with kindness, recognizing that having a woman in the group brings a different perspective,” the representative noted, emphasizing the importance of diversity in tech education.
For those interested in exploring the new campus, IPSSI will host open days, with the next one scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025. This event provides an opportunity for prospective students and their families to discover the facilities and learn more about the programs offered.
Meanwhile, another exciting development in the Val d'Europe area is the recent opening of Imagi Park, a massive indoor leisure complex that officially launched on April 23, 2025. Spanning 13,400 square meters in the former Castorama space at the shopping center, Imagi Park aims to become a major entertainment destination in Île-de-France, attracting an estimated 800,000 to one million visitors annually.
Imagi Park features two flagship attractions: Speed Park and Fort Boyard Aventures. Speed Park, covering 5,000 square meters, offers a variety of family-friendly activities, including electric karting, 25 bowling lanes, laser tag, billiards, karaoke, and interactive quizzes. Fort Boyard Aventures immerses visitors in physical and intellectual challenges inspired by the beloved television show, where participants can win keys to access the Treasure Room.
This ambitious 15 million euro project was developed by Hadrena in partnership with Klépierre and has been in the works for three years, collaborating closely with the municipality of Serris and Euro Disney’s Real Estate Development team. In addition to the existing attractions, four more brands are set to open in the coming months, including KOJUMP, a trampoline park, Gold's Gym France, an expansive fitness facility, and Ephemera, an immersive restaurant that extends the play experience into dining.
Initial visitors have praised the variety of activities available at Imagi Park. “We tried Fort Boyard and the karting; it was awesome!” exclaimed a visitor named Hocine, highlighting the family-friendly atmosphere of the new complex.
With Val d'Europe attracting 20 million visitors each year due to its 190 stores and the Sea Life aquarium, the addition of Imagi Park is expected to enhance the region’s appeal as a leisure destination. The operating hours for Imagi Park are variable, generally from 10 AM to 1 AM, with reservations recommended for certain attractions.
Both the IPSSI school and Imagi Park represent significant strides in the Val d'Europe Agglomeration's commitment to education and entertainment, creating a vibrant environment for residents and visitors alike. As the region continues to grow and attract new businesses and families, these developments promise to enrich the community and provide valuable opportunities for the future.
