CSK chased down a target of 156 runs, thanks in part to Rachin Ravindra’s unbeaten score of 65 and a solid bowling performance from Vignesh Puthur, who took three wickets for MI. CSK’s victory earned them a NRR of +0.493 and placed them third on the points table.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who had previously defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), secured second place following their win, featuring an impressive chase of 175 runs in just 16.2 overs, giving RCB an NRR of +2.137. In contrast, MI now sits fourth from the bottom with a NRR of -0.493 after their defeat against CSK.
Despite an inspiring performance by Deepak Chahar, who scored 28 not out off 15 balls, MI could only manage 155 runs for nine wickets. This total was not enough against CSK, who completed their chase successfully with five balls to spare. KKR and RR, both struggling with early defeats, find themselves at the bottom of the standings, with NRRs of -2.137 and -2.200, respectively.
