Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has issued notifications for two significant recruitment drives targeting aspiring candidates across India. The first drive seeks to fill 457 apprenticeship positions, providing opportunities for training under various trades, and the second aims to recruit 246 junior operators for non-executive roles.
The IOCL apprenticeship drive is geared toward candidates interested in gaining hands-on experience across several technical and non-technical disciplines. The available trades include Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication & Instrumentation, and Assistant Human Resource positions, among others. The recruitment, conducted under The Apprentices Act of 1961, covers multiple locations under IOCL’s regional pipelines, encompassing Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern, and South-Eastern regions.
Selected candidates will undergo 12 months of apprenticeship training, during which they will earn stipends as per government regulations. The application process commenced online on February 10, 2025, and will close on March 3, 2025. Candidates seeking to apply must use the NATS/NAPS portals as well as the IOCL Pipelines website.
For those aspiring to apply for these apprentice roles, it’s important to note the educational qualifications required depending on the trade. A full-time diploma is mandatory for Technician Apprentices, whereas Trade Apprentice positions necessitate at least a bachelor’s degree. For Data Entry Operators, candidates need to have completed their 12th grade. Age restrictions apply, with applicants needing to be between 18 and 24 years as of February 28, 2025. Age relaxations are granted to certain categories such as SC/ST and PwBD, allowing for eligibility up to 15 years older than the typical age limit.
The selection process exclusively relies on merit, with candidates evaluated based on their academic performance without the interference of written tests or interviews. A merit list will be compiled using the overall percentage including qualifying examinations. If candidates possess identical scores, older applicants will be prioritized, ensuring fairness throughout the selection.
Meanwhile, the recruitment drive for junior operators will open applications from February 3 to February 23, 2025. This initiative, specified under Advertisement No. IOCL/MKTG/HO/REC/2025, focuses on filling the non-executive junior operator positions across various states, with 246 vacancies available.
The required qualifications for junior operator positions include passing Class X alongside obtaining at least two years of ITI certification from recognized institutes. Applicants with higher secondary education must achieve at least 40% marks, and General/OBC candidates are subject to age limits of 18-26 years as of January 31, 2025, with age relaxations aligning with government regulations.
To apply, candidates must navigate the official IOCL website, follow the links for careers, and register for the respective roles. Payment of ₹300 is necessary for General or OBC candidates, whereas SC/ST/PwBD applicants are exempted. The selection for junior operators involves both Computer-Based Tests and Skill/Proficiency/Physical Tests, ensuring candidates demonstrate both knowledge and practical ability.
IOCL’s recruitment initiatives for 2025 offer exciting prospects both for apprentices and for individuals seeking more permanent roles within the organization. Interested candidates are encouraged to remain aware of application deadlines and follow all registration instructions closely to secure consideration.
