"Metastases often appear significantly more aggressive when located in the lungs, indicating potential unique characteristics of lung cancer spread", the researchers note.

On the dietary front, findings from the UK involving more than 540,000 women reveal new insights about colon cancer risk mitigation through specific foods. The research led by Keren Papier at the Oxford University highlighted the potentially protective role of dairy products. "A glass of milk daily can reduce colon cancer risk by about 14 percent," according to the study. This suggests integrating dairy, particularly milk, could have significant benefits.

The researchers also identified calcium contained within dairy as key to these protective effects. "Calcium seems to play a significant role in the protective effects of dairy products against colon cancer," remarks Rudolf Kaaks from the German Cancer Research Center. His perspective aligns with earlier studies, reinforcing the idea of specific dietary choices, such as increasing calcium intake, guiding public health recommendations.

Ginevra Doglioni from KU Leuven remarked, "We found high aspartate levels may be significant for lung metastasis," indicating there may lie another layer of complexity to how cancer departments can tailor more effective treatments.
