Intense Border Crossing Activity Recorded Over 24 Hours

Authorities report significant traffic and highlight enforcement actions against entry violations.

Border crossing activities witnessed a surge over the past 24 hours, with 38,229 individuals traversing different points of entry to and from Moldova. The Police of the Border reported the busiest crossings, highlighting the significant flow at key border points.

The International Airport of Chișinău topped the list with 10,988 crossings, followed by Leușeni with 6,365, and Sculeni with 4,710. Other notable crossing points included Palanca with 3,545 and Otaci with 2,344 crossings during this reporting period.

Despite the busy crossings, the authorities reported issuing refusals for entry to 30 foreign citizens. These refusals were primarily due to violations of entry regulations. The police did not tolerate illegal activities, making it clear they would enforce compliance stringently.

Within the same timeframe, several violations were documented by the Border Police, including five instances of illegal border crossing attempts, two cases involving false documents, and four individuals who violated the terms of their stay and entry protocol. The authorities classified eight incidents related to breaches of the border regime and crossings regulations.

To mitigate congestion at popular crossing points, the Border Police recommended using alternative routes. For those traveling through Leușeni-Albița, they advised considering Leova-Bumbăta or Cahul-Oancea as alternatives between 08:00 and 20:00 hours. Similarly, Sculeni-Sculeni travelers were encouraged to opt for Costești-Stânca or Lipcani-Rădăuți Prut routes. For travelers at Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe, the suggested alternative was Tudora-Starokazacie.

The international traffic control has been intense, ring-fencing the security and processing protocols for thousands of travelers. The statistics indicate not only the demand on border resources but also the increased vigilance of the enforcement agencies. For real-time updates on border crossing statuses and waiting times, travelers can access the dedicated online portal maintained by the Border Police.

Line communication remains open with the Green Line of the Border Police for queries and assistance, available at 022 259 717. Authorities urge patience and respect among travelers and the Border Police personnel managing these crossings.

This period has been marked by heightened scrutiny of border activities as law enforcement balances the steady influx of passengers with the imperative of maintaining border integrity and security. Traveling through Moldova’s border points requires compliance with regulations, reflecting the continuing global and regional emphasis on secure and regulated cross-border movement.
