Indian Job Exams Await Results And Cutoff Marks

Candidates look forward to Bar Council and JKSSB announcements as pressure mounts for law and junior assistant roles.

The Indian government job market is buzzing as candidates eagerly await exam results and cut-off marks from various recruitment bodies. Among the most anticipated are the results of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) and the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) exams.

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has not yet declared the results for the AIBE XIX 2024-25, conducted on December 22, 2024. Candidates who appeared for this important exam are now on the edge of their seats, hoping to learn if they’ve met the necessary qualification marks to practice law. Typically, the AIBE results are anticipated to be announced about one month after the exam, leaving many participants anxious for any updates.

Last year, the minimum qualifying marks were adjusted, with the passing score for General category candidates raised from 40 percent to 45 percent. According to studycafe.com, "The AIBE 19 Exam minimum qualifying marks for General and OBC candidates are 45% and 40% for the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD." This change has added to the pressure for many, as candidates now need to secure at least 45 marks out of 100 to clear the examination. For candidates from SC/ST categories, the requirement remains 37 out of 93 marks.

To provide additional insight, last year's AIBE cut-off marks reveal the challenges faced by candidates. For AIBE 18, the cut-offs were 42 marks out of 93 for General candidates, and 37 marks for SC/ST candidates, representing 45% and 40% of the total respectively. Similarly, AIBE 17 saw cut-offs of 39 marks (40%) for General and OBC, and 34 marks (35%) for SC/ST.

Moving on to the JKSSB, they are set to publish the Junior Assistant Cutoff Marks for the exam held on February 16, 2025. This exam is part of the recruitment process for positions within the Revenue Department, and the results are expected to play a pivotal role for many aspiring candidates. They will be using these marks to qualify for the skill test stage of the selection process. For those eager to know the anticipated cut-off, varying estimates suggest the following: the cut-off range for the General category (often denoted as OM) is expected to be between 75 to 80 marks, with other categories such as SC and EWS ranging between 65 to 75 and 52 to 57 respectively.

According to jkssb.nic.in, "Only candidates who secure marks equal to or more than the cut-off marks in the written examination will be shortlisted for the skill test." This opportunity brings hope for many, as passing this portion is necessary for employment within the government sector.

Understanding past patterns of JKSSB cut-off marks can be invaluable for current candidates. For example, last year's data illustrated the fluctuated cut-offs: EWS had 64.35, SC had 61.4, and ST recorded 50.62. Such insights can help candidates gauge competition levels and plan their preparations accordingly.

Despite the spell of uncertainty surrounding announcement dates, both the BCI and JKSSB are working diligently to provide results. The JKSSB has yet to release the official result dates for the Junior Assistant exam, but updates are expected soon after the exam, reassuring anxious candidates.

Once the results for the AIBE and JKSSB are finally disclosed, candidates will be directed to their respective official websites to view and download the scores. It is anticipated these announcements will significantly impact the candidates' futures and career trajectories.

These examination processes highlight the rigorous nature of eligibility testing for government jobs, underlining both the commitment from examining bodies to maintain standards and the dedication from candidates striving to succeed. The urgency surrounding the result announcements reflects not only the stakes involved but also the anticipation for many seeking stable career paths within the Indian government framework.
