Following a breakout 2024 filled with soaring accolades and sold-out shows, the Swedish alternative metalcore band Imminence is gearing up for another explosive year with the release of their newest single, "Death Shall Have No Dominion." This track promises to push the boundaries of their already dynamic sound, which captivated fans worldwide last year.
Since the release of their universally acclaimed album, The Black, which showcased the band's impressive artistic evolution, they have seen their popularity skyrocket. The upcoming single melds elements from Scandinavian death and black metal, representing everything fans have come to expect from Imminence—yet even more ambitious. Guitarist Harald Barrett provided insight on the new track, exclaiming, "Just when you might have thought you knew what to expect, we turn around and give you a new single. And not any kind of single. I honestly don’t think there has ever been a more extreme track coming from this band. We want to show you The Black goes deep and darker than you could ever image, and we intend to take you there with us."
The anticipation surrounding "Death Shall Have No Dominion" is heightened by the band's success with their tenth-anniversary re-release of debut album I, dubbed The Reclamation of I, which garnered millions of streams and marked some of their biggest shows to date. The freshness introduced through new recordings and mixes allowed fans to reconnect with the band's early music, adding to the excitement for forthcoming releases.
Accompanying the single is a music video directed by Pavel Trebukhin, known for his work with notable bands like Bleed from Within and LANDMVRKS. The visual representation of the song complements its weighty sound, plunging viewers deep within the thematic explorations of the band's new artistic direction.
With the single's debut, Imminence is also pleased to announce their North American tour, set to begin on March 8, 2025, featuring the support of bands LANDMVRKS and Jiluka. The tour’s itinerary features stops at venues across major cities, including:
