The whole of Kerala is praying for the health of Malayalam's beloved writer MT Vasudevan Nair, who is currently under treatment at Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode. The 91-year-old writer, known for his immense contributions to Malayalam literature and cinema, was admitted to the hospital on December 15 due to respiratory problems. Unfortunately, his condition worsened, leading to cardiac arrest on December 20. He is now receiving intensive care and is on life support, including oxygen masks and other life-saving measures.
Minister Mohammed Riyas visited the hospital to inquire about Nair's condition, and he shared updates from the hospital's medical bulletin with the media. Riyas stated, "The government and other systems are working together, utilizing all available resources, to save MT's life.” The latest medical bulletin indicated no change in Nair's health, though it noted he is stable with his heartbeat and blood pressure under control. A specialized team of doctors is closely monitoring his progress.
Since news of Nair’s condition broke, several prominent figures, including Minister AK Saseendran and CPM Politburo member MA Baby, have visited the hospital to confer with doctors and support Nair's family. His family members are at the hospital, providing emotional support during this challenging time.
