HP Unveils Custom Gaming PC At Gamescom 2024

Personalization and quality take center stage with new gaming gear from HP

At this year's Gamescom 2024, HP stole the spotlight with its innovative line of gaming products under the OMEN and HyperX brands. Focused on personalization and upgradeability, the company aims to cater to diverse gaming needs.

The headline product, the OMEN 35L, positions itself as the "first customizable gaming PC," combining high performance with user-friendly upgrade options. Featuring both AMD and Intel architectures, this rig allows gamers to select their components, ensuring they get exactly what they desire.

One of the standout features of the OMEN 35L is its superior cooling technology, which includes configurations for liquid cooling solutions. HP boasts improved airflow and quieter operation, aiming to keep the gaming experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Performance-wise, the OMEN 35L shows promise, with benchmarks highlighting impressive improvements over its predecessor, the OMEN 25L. For example, it performs 1.29 times faster than its predecessor on popular games like Rainbow Six Siege and Cyberpunk 2077.

Switching gears, HP also spotlighted the new HyperX Quadcast 2 and Quadcast 2 S microphones, which come equipped with professional-grade audio capabilities. Targeted at the growing influencer audience, these microphones feature customizable LED lighting which can add flair to streams or recording sessions.

The Quadcast 2 offers 24-bit, 96kHz fidelity, whereas its sibling, Quadcast 2 S, ups the ante with 32-bit, 192kHz sound quality. Both microphones include convenient features such as multi-dials for gain and volume control, along with versatile polar patterns for different recording environments.

Alongside these microphones, HP is introducing the HyperX Alloy Rise 75 Wireless keyboard, which is positioned as ideal for both gaming and professional use. Its battery life is particularly notable, lasting up to 1500 hours without backlighting, ensuring prolonged use during intense gaming sessions.

Customization is key with the Alloy Rise 75; users can swap out faceplates and badges, allowing personalization beyond standard designs. The keyboard also includes multiple connectivity options, such as USB-C, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless, making it versatile for different setups.

With the expansion of its OMEN Gaming Hub, HP announced collaboration with Google Play Games, enabling users to access mobile titles alongside PC games seamlessly. This integration allows for the syncing of game progress across platforms, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

At Gamescom, HP promised significant emphasis on quality across its offerings. The bold designs and customizable features aim to resonate with gamers who prioritize personal style and performance.

The OMEN 35L is expected to launch with starting prices around $1,299.99 for AMD configurations and slightly higher for Intel options. Gamers can expect to see components available for sale by early 2025, enhancing the modularity of their setups.

Meanwhile, the new HyperX microphones will be accessible for $149.99 for the Quadcast 2, with the Quadcast 2 S launching at $199.99 later this year. The Alloy Rise 75 Wireless keyboard will hit the market at $229.99, along with customizable top plates and badge packs available for gamers interested.

HP’s comprehensive approach at Gamescom highlights its commitment to meeting the demands of the gaming community. Whether through novel designs, customizable features, or premium performance, HP seeks to create products ideal for the modern gamer.

With excitement buzzing around the new releases, HP continues to expand its footprint in the gaming sector. Fans of both casual and competitive gaming will find plenty to fuel their passions with these innovative products.

This year’s Gamescom is not just another event; it marks HP's ambition to redefine gaming personalization and gear. For those attending, visiting the OMEN and HyperX booth is simply a must-do to experience these impressive products firsthand.
