Hiroshima Prefecture Weather Report Forecasts Rain

Cloudy skies with warmer temperatures dominate the weather outlook for Hiroshima this week.

Hiroshima Prefecture experienced extended periods of sunshine on February 27, 2025, before cloud cover settled across the region in the afternoon. The highest recorded temperatures included 13.2°C in Hiroshima City, with nearby areas like Fuchu reaching 16.1°C, and other regions such as Shobara at 14.0°C and Ayaki touching 12.5°C. These values mark some of the warmest temperatures recorded so far this year.

Looking forward to February 28, forecasts indicate cloudy skies with potential brief showers, especially prevalent in the southern parts of the prefecture. A trough of low pressure will traverse the area leading to this expected rain. Nevertheless, as the day progresses, sunny intervals are likely to emerge, gradually clearing the skies by late evening.

Morning temperatures on February 28 are expected to be quite mild, significantly higher by 3°C to 6°C compared to the morning of February 27, allowing for warmer conditions throughout the day and evening as southerly winds introduce warmer air. This could make for quite pleasant weather when the sun breaks through the clouds.

Contrastingly, the weekend is anticipated to start with inconsistency, possibly bringing rain by the afternoon on Saturday. The oncoming front is predicted to stall near the Honshu area, resulting in unstable weather patterns. Early next week, weather forecasts suggest the formation of low-pressure systems over the front line, resulting in heavier rainfall at times.

Midweek temperatures should remain above average, with many areas enjoying highs significantly exceeding normal ranges. Notably, northern sections of the prefecture could see temperatures surpass 15°C, resembling early spring warmth.

Despite the warmer weather, there is also concern about air quality. Specifically, PM2.5 levels are projected to be slightly increased, particularly during the morning hours when haziness might contribute to respiratory difficulties. Therefore, individuals with respiratory issues are advised to take precautions, such as wearing masks.

This detailed weather overview underlines the fluctuative nature of Hiroshima's climate as February draws to a close, providing locals and visitors with the necessary information to navigate the changing weather effectively.
