Hera Pheri 3 Announced With Original Cast

Director Priyadarshan confirms production on his birthday, igniting excitement among fans.

Fans of the iconic comedy series are buzzing with excitement as director Priyadarshan confirmed the much-anticipated production of "Hera Pheri 3" during his 68th birthday celebration. This time, the beloved original trio—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty—are set to return, ensuring the comedy's fans will get to see what mischief these characters get up to next.

The announcement came after Akshay Kumar posted heartfelt birthday wishes to Priyadarshan on Twitter, humorously remarking, "Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What more way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts…both real and unpaid extras?" He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!" Akshay’s warm words set the tone for what would follow.

Priyadarshan, always known for his wit, responded to Akshay's wishes with excitement and hinted at the film's future. He declared, "Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay Kumar. A gift for you, I am willing to do 'Hera Pheri 3'. Are you ready, Akshay?" He didn't stop there, tagging his co-stars Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal to include them directly in this thrilling announcement.

Elated by this potential reunion, Akshay Kumar couldn't hide his joy. He shared a meme from his 2007 comedy "Welcome", where his character exclaims, "Miracle! Miracle!" Akshay added, "Sir!!! Your birthday and I got the best gift of my life. Let's do some more 'Hera Pheri 3'." His enthusiasm reflected the sentiments of many fans eagerly awaiting this new chapter.

Paresh Rawal, the actor who brought the endearing landlord Babu Rao to life, also expressed his excitement on social media. He likened Priyadarshan to the nurturing figure of a mother, writing, "Dear Priyan ji, you are the mother who brought this divine bundle of joy! Thank you once again for taking custody of this ever-smiling baby. Welcome, sir, and bring happiness to the world once more." The warmth of his words highlighted the bond formed over the years among the cast.

Suniel Shetty, who plays Shyam, jumped on the bandwagon with his own enthusiasm, stating, "Hera Pheri aur pooch pooch!!! Let's do this 'Hera Pheri 3'." His post conveyed his readiness to join the film and to rekindle the chemistry they share on-screen.

Adding to the buzz, Gulshan Grover, who played the villain Kabira in the original film, humorously chimed in on social media. He rejoiced along with Suniel but teased him by asking, "But Shetty, my brother, you didn't tag Kabira? 'Hera Pheri' without Kabira speaking?" His playful comment reminded fans of the film's memorable characters and dynamics.”

The original "Hera Pheri" was released back in 2000, introducing audiences to Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty), who share their landlord Babu Rao (Paresh Rawal). All three characters navigate the challenges of their financial struggles and somewhat chaotic lives. The plot takes off as they accidentally intercept a ransom call on their shared landline, leading them to concoct a scheme to keep the ransom money for themselves. This blend of humor, drama, and unexpected twists became the hallmark of the film.

Following its success, the sequel, "Phir Hera Pheri," hit theaters in 2006. This installment, written and directed by Neeraj Vora, continued to explore the hilarious escapades of the three men as they again find themselves embroiled in trouble. Their escapades have remained etched fondly in fans' memories and paved the way for the highly anticipated "Hera Pheri 3".

With excitement building for this upcoming production, fans are already speculating about the storylines and antics awaiting them. Given the unique charm of the original film and its strong camaraderie among the cast, "Hera Pheri 3" is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of 2025.
