Both dressed as E.T., Tom revealed the discomfort they endured. “These costumes look harmless, but they were incredibly uncomfortable,” he said, reflecting on his experience during their podcast, 'Kaulitz Hills - Mustard from Hollywood'.
Tom struggled especially with the large headpiece, which caused blisters under the skin and bruises all over his body. He explained, “The prostheses did not allow the skin to breathe, which felt like suffocathing.” To minimize their discomfort, Klum and Kaulitz opted for brief appearances on the red carpet, making their time under the spotlight as short as possible.
All of this is part of Klum's larger vision for her Halloween celebrations. She admitted to People shortly before the event, “There is no proper fitting. I can’t try it on properly before I wear it because I never know if it’s going to work until the day of.” This unpredictability implies the comfort often takes a backseat to creativity during their elaborate costume planning.
