Hatsune Miku Takes Center Stage At Fortnite Festival Season 7

Epic Games unveils new music collaboration and local multiplayer features for players to enjoy together.

Epic Games has officially announced the launch of Fortnite Festival Season 7, featuring virtual pop star Hatsune Miku as its icon. The much-anticipated event is set to kick off on January 14, 2025, and will run until April 8, 2025, bringing players new content and gameplay experiences.

Hatsune Miku, who has become a global sensation with her unique digital persona and has been featured in over 100,000 songs, is now stepping onto the virtual stage alongside Fortnite. The announcement marks another major shift for the Fortnite Festival, which has previously showcased icons such as Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish.

Starting with version 33.20, players can expect to see new features as part of the season launch. One of the highlights is the Music Pass, priced at 1,400 V-Bucks, which allows players to earn exclusive items. Among these rewards is Hatsune Miku’s iconic costume “Cat Hatsune Miku,” which is also compatible with Lego-style designs. The Music Pass culminates with the addition of the new style “Bright Hatsune Miku,” inspired by the character Bright Bomber and Fortnite Battle Royale’s supply llama.

Along with the new costume offerings, players will also be able to access the beat track “M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT!” featuring SAWTOWNE and Hatsune Miku, available at the end of the music pass. This collaboration brings some of Miku’s most emblematic songs to the Festival stage, energizing the gameplay with familiar tunes.

Fortnite is also enhancing the player experience by introducing new local multiplayer features for PlayStation and Xbox users. Up to four players can participate simultaneously on the Festival main stage during local play sessions. This change is expected to encourage teamwork and fun among friends as they navigate the festival's new offerings together.

Hatsune Miku, developed by Crypton Future Media, is much more than just software; she embodies a movement of virtual idols capturing the hearts of millions worldwide. Since her introduction, Miku has transcended music, featuring prominently at major music festivals across the globe. Her appeal lies not only in her music but also in her ability to engage fans through various media forms, including merchandise, concerts, and digital appearances.

The Fortnite Festival has established itself as a culturally rich platform, constantly integrating popular music and gaming experiences. Players are not only getting new costumes and items; they are becoming part of wider cultural phenomena. With Hatsune Miku now on board as the festival’s face, Epic Games aims to deepen player engagement and broaden Fortnite’s cultural footprint.

Fans and newcomers alike are excited about this season's novel additions and the continued evolution of Fortnite as both a game and cultural space. The return of interactive experiences tied to beloved personalities such as Hatsune Miku highlights the essence of Fortnite’s ever-expanding universe—one where players and performers can intertwine their passions for gaming and music.
