Custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles are riding high on popularity, with the latest buzz centered around the Harley-Davidson X350 model. Two local automotive dealerships, Harley-Davidson Takasaki and TIGER MOBILE, have pioneered unique custom versions of this bike, each targeting distinct riding experiences: one geared for off-road adventurers and the other poised for circuit enthusiasts.
Harley-Davidson Takasaki, located in Takasaki City, Japan, has developed two specialized versions of the X350. They’re not just ordinary modifications; these are custom-built machines intended primarily for different kinds of fun on wheels. The first version caters to dirt riding, equipped with Pirelli’s MT60RS tires – perfect for tackling rugged terrains. The dealership plans to introduce modifications like fender elimination to make the bike even more adept at tearing through dirt trails. Recently, during interviews conducted at the end of August 2024, they emphasized the joy and thrill of off-road experiences, noting, "We want to strengthen the fun of off-road riding for Harley owners."
But it’s not just about hitting the trails. Takasaki also offers circuit model rentals, allowing riders to experience both the X350’s versatility and its sporty potential. This kind of commitment to experiential riding is what sets the dealership apart. They noted regular events happening at their exclusive off-road course, Moto Field Haruna, expressly built for the X350 and its companions, the Pan America motors.
Turning our focus to TIGER MOBILE, located in Gifu City, their representative Komori shared insights on launching their own custom versions of the X350. From the onset of the model's announcement, Komori sensed it unveiled possibilities previously unexplored for Harley-Davidson bikes. “The X350 is 'a bike with possibilities not found before',' he explained, affirming his belief the motorcycle had the potential to engage younger riders. With its manageable design, it opens up new territory for street cruising, accommodating leisure rides as well as spirited drives through winding roads.
Despite the excitement, developers at TIGER MOBILE face certain hurdles. Komori is working with limited availability of specific custom parts. He has had to scour for components from other models, including Benelli parts, experimenting extensively to fit as there’s no direct bolt-on compatibility. Despite these challenges, his efforts have been focused on fine-tuning the riding position for sportier performance, showcasing their dedication through trial and error.
Both dealerships, Harley-Davidson Takasaki and TIGER MOBILE, encourage the community of Harley enthusiasts to embrace these specialized rides and benefit from their capabilities. The rides' potential is turning heads, prompting curiosity around new ways to experience the iconic Harley brand.
Future plans hint at even more adventures. Regular riding events are anticipated to feature both off-road and circuit riding opportunities, solidifying the X350’s role as the centerpiece of exhilarating experiences. These endeavors not only aim at enhancing riding skills but also bring the Harley community together, bonding over shared love for motorcycling.
With increased attention on the X350, it seems clear the path for Harley-Davidson is ever-evolving. The X350 is more than just another model—it's set to redefine how riders perceive the Harley experience, marrying tradition with versatility, and providing opportunities for every kind of adventurer on two wheels.
