Gwangju FC Moves Home Stadium To Enhance Fan Experience

Gwangju FC, a professional football club in South Korea, has officially announced a significant shift in its home venue for the 2025 season. As of March 19, 2025, the club will move its home matches to Gwangju World Cup Stadium, transitioning from the Gwangju Football Stadium where it has played since July 2020.

In light of these issues, Gwangju FC initiated discussions with the Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Sports Council to facilitate the move to Gwangju World Cup Stadium. This venue boasts superior facilities, a roofing structure that shields spectators from rain, and additional seating capacity to enhance the atmosphere for fans. As part of preparations for the 2025 season, Gwangju FC has already hosted matches against Suwon FC and FC Anyang at the new stadium.

In parallel, the Gwangju Football Stadium will undergo remodeling to serve various functional purposes post-transition. Plans are underway to establish a living center for U-15 players and expand the training facilities for the professional squad, thus ensuring a fertile environment for player development.
