Gusa Mountain Library Launches Annual Writer Lecture Series

A diverse lineup of authors aims to engage Daegu residents from March to October.

The Gusa Mountain Library, operated by the Bukgu Cultural Foundation, is set to host its annual writer lecture series titled 'Beyond the Boundaries of Creation' from March to October this year.

According to Newsis, the library spokesperson stated, "This year, we aimed to invite writers who are not easily accessible for our residents to have conversations on unique topics." Monthly lectures will feature various writers from different backgrounds, providing local residents with opportunities to engage with literary figures.

The series kicks off this March with Han Ah-reum, the acclaimed playwright known for his musical 'Hero'. April will spotlight Cha Jin-pyo, who is not only an actor but has also made his mark as a bestselling author.

May will focus on Joyce Park, recognized for her expertise in English education, aligning with the theme of the family month. June welcomes Kim Jong-seop, known for his work as an advertising planner and representative of the Big Idea Research Institute.

Following the summer months, freelance critic Geum Jeong-yeon will take the stage in July. August sees the addition of Lee Jae-yeon, noted for his academic contributions at Korea University.

September, marking the reading month, will feature Ko Myeong-hwan, who has not only garnered acclaim as a comedian but also as a writer, having won the Kyobo Bookstore 'Author of the Year' award.

Finally, October will conclude the series with Kim Gyeo-ul, a popular book tuber attracting the attention of the younger generation.

Each lecture promises to offer unique insights and vibrant discussions, enhancing the cultural fabric of Daegu. The Gusa Mountain Library hopes this initiative will strengthen literary appreciation and community connections.
