Greenland Shark Is Key To Understanding Longevity

The Greenland shark, known for inhabiting the cold depths of the North Atlantic and Arctic waters, holds the title of the longest-living vertebrate on the planet. Recent studies estimate its age to be between 272 and over 500 years, with the shark showcasing exceptional growth rates of less than 1 centimeter per year.
