Meanwhile, on the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the ongoing security concerns in Thailand's southern border provinces. He assured the public that the government has not abandoned its citizens in these areas. His remarks followed directives from Prime Minister Phaethongthan Shinawatra, urging the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense to expedite efforts to stabilize the region.
Anutin emphasized the need for local governors to be proactive in their communities, urging them to spend more time with residents to foster a sense of security and reassurance. He stated that the government is committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens, particularly those practicing Buddhism in the southern provinces, where there has been a recent uptick in violence.
