GoTo Partners With Google Maps To Enhance Services

The collaboration aims to optimize navigation and support local businesses in Indonesia.

On March 24, 2025, PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) announced a significant collaboration with Google Maps that promises to reshape the landscape of on-demand services in Indonesia. The partnership, involving GoTo's on-demand services unit Gojek, aims to strengthen the mapping experience for its consumers, driver-partners, and merchants.

This strategic collaboration combines Gojek’s real-time on-the-ground data with Google Maps’ advanced geo-technology. According to a statement from GoTo, the partnership will not only optimize navigation but also reduce delivery times, thereby enhancing discoverability for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) using the Gojek app. Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, the President of On-Demand Services at GoTo, emphasized the importance of such collaborations, stating, “At GoTo, we believe that collaborating with global technology leaders like Google is key to driving innovation that benefits our consumers, driver-partners, and merchants.”

“By combining Gojek’s real-time on-the-ground data with Google Maps’ cutting-edge geo-technology, we will deliver a superior mapping experience that enhances efficiency and accessibility for millions of users across Indonesia,” she added.

This collaboration comes at a time when Gojek serves millions of consumers each day, generating critical data points that offer insights into mobility patterns and road conditions. It stands to significantly improve the overall navigation and service delivery for users who rely on Gojek. As noted by Yael Maguire, Vice President and General Manager at Google Maps Platform, this partnership enhances access to real-time information about transportation in Indonesia. He remarked, “As a technology-driven company, GoTo actively seeks collaborations that drive innovation and create greater value for its users.”

The collaboration will enable smarter route optimization through the integration of Gojek's data with Google Maps’ advanced real-time traffic analysis features. This means that delivery times should decrease, improving overall efficiency. Furthermore, Gojek and Google Maps will work together to enhance destination selection, searchability, and the pickup/drop-off experiences for users and driver-partners.

Importantly, Google will collaborate with GoFood, Gojek's food delivery service, to educate and onboard MSME merchants to Google Business Profiles. This initiative aims to facilitate accurate address listings and improve visibility for these small businesses on the platform, thus reinforcing GoTo’s ongoing support for MSMEs. By bridging the gap between these merchants and consumers, the collaboration intends to make it easier for consumers to find and order from local businesses.

As Indonesia's largest digital ecosystem, GoTo continues to showcase its commitment to empowering small businesses by leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and redefine user experiences. The integration of Google Maps with Gojek’s on-demand services is expected to drive business growth and further support Indonesia’s array of micro, small, and medium enterprises. The ongoing collaboration also underscores the importance of innovative technology in scaling and optimizing operations in rapidly growing markets.

This strategic move forms part of GoTo's broader objective to create a seamless digital experience for both users and MSMEs, allowing for better service delivery and quicker access to essential services. As the partnership unfolds, both companies are looking forward to delivering enhanced value to their shared audience in Indonesia.
