Google has once again opened the doors to its image generation tool, Gemini, allowing users to create AI-generated images of human beings. "We’ve worked to make technical improvements to the product, as well as improved evaluation sets, red-teaming exercises, and clear product principles," he stated, emphasizing the company's commitment to addressing prior feedback.
When Google's Imagen 2 first emerged, it garnered significant backlash, particularly from tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who criticized the tool for producing what many saw as "woke" images—inaccurate portrayals of historical figures and events. Google has implemented new tools to watermark images generated by its AI, using its SynthID system.
