Gold Radio is gearing up for 2025 with an exciting new lineup of shows and presenters, aiming to bring back the nostalgic magic of all-time classics. Starting January 6th, the station will introduce listeners to two fresh programs: the Gold Radio Drive with Kirsty Gallacher and the Gold Radio Breakfast with James Bassam. The latter will include the Gold Radio Hall of Fame segment, celebrating listeners' favorite songs from 10 am to 11 am.
Kirsty Gallacher expressed her enthusiasm about joining the iconic station, stating through Global’s press release, "I am thrilled to be joining the iconic Gold Radio to present a new weekday programme. I love the buzz of live radio and can’t wait to be part of an exciting new team, playing the best all time classics and getting to know Gold Radio’s loyal listeners, as well as enticing some new recruits.”
Another notable addition is popular chef and presenter Simon Rimmer, who will host Saturday morning shows from 8 am to 12 pm. Rimmer remarked, "To host my own radio show is a dream come true, and to do it on Gold Radio is the icing on the cake.” His weekend show aims to create an atmosphere resembling him going through his music collection, sharing it with the audience.
Sally Ardis, the Senior Managing Editor at Gold Radio as well as other major stations like Heart and Smooth, praised the station’s unique offerings. "With a phenomenal breadth of All Time Classics spanning the 60s, 70s, and 80s, Gold Radio is packed with everyone’s favourite timeless songs. Global’s massive investment means we have struck gold by welcoming Kirsty Gallacher and Simon Rimmer to the growing Gold Radio family,” she said.
