Go!Go!Kids Member Kotaro Terazawa Suspended Indefinitely

STARTO Entertainment takes action after contract violations revealed by SNS allegations.

Japanese idol Kotaro Terazawa, known for his role as a member of the Junior group Go!Go!Kids, will indefinitely suspend his entertainment activities following revelations of potential contract violations. The announcement, made on March 5, 2025, by STARTO Entertainment, has sent ripples of concern and confusion among fans and the entertainment community.

Terazawa, only 17 years old, was thrust under scrutiny after allegations surfaced on social media, including incidents related to smoking. STARTO Entertainment addressed the situation directly, issuing an apology for the distress caused to both fans and related parties. "We sincerely apologize for the concern and confusion caused to all the fans and related parties who support us. After verifying the facts with him, it has become clear he engaged in actions violating his contract," the company stated.

This incident marks a significant turning point for Terazawa, who was born on February 22, 2008, and joined STARTO Entertainment on July 7, 2019. He became part of Go!Go!Kids when the group was formed as an eight-member unit back in May 2022. The group, which showcases skills such as roller skating, has since transitioned to seven active members after Riku Masakado departed at the end of October last year.

Following discussions between Terazawa and company officials, it was decided he would take time away from the spotlight. "This situation, of course, is due to his lack of self-awareness, but our company is also taking this matter seriously and will strive to strengthen the management system to help our juniors balance their studies and entertainment activities," STARTO Entertainment emphasized.

The concern over Terazawa's behavior shines light on the rigorous standards expected of young idols, particularly members of Junior groups, whose careers often begin at such tender ages. The organization outlined plans to implement stricter management protocols to prevent similar incidents from occurring and maintain the integrity of their programs.

Fans of Go!Go!Kids and the wider idol community have been very vocal about the incident, expressing disappointment but also concern for Terazawa's well-being during this period. Many have flocked to social media platforms to share messages of support, wishing for his quick return after reflection and growth.

The situation raises broader questions about the pressures faced by young entertainers, particularly under the intense gaze of public scrutiny. With the recent shuffling of other talent groups such as HiHi Jets and 7 MEN Samurai by the agency, this incident presents yet another challenge for STARTO Entertainment, which is also trying to navigate and manage the aftermath of such changes.

It remains to be seen how this decision to suspend activities will impact Terazawa's future and the reputation of Go!Go!Kids. The company has reiterated its commitment to ensuring such situations are handled with the utmost seriousness, not only for the sake of their talent but also for the trust built with their fanbase.

The entertainment agency apologized once more, reiteratively addressing the unintended consequences of Terazawa's actions and seeking to restore confidence among its supporters. "We deeply apologize for all the trouble and concern brought upon you by this incident," they concluded.

This moment serves as both a cautionary lesson and a reminder of the responsibility borne by young idols and the entities managing their careers. Observers and fans alike will be watching closely what steps Terazawa takes next as he seeks to regain his footing within the entertainment world.
