Giulia Salemi and Pierpaolo Pretelli have recently stepped onto the exciting path of parenthood, welcoming their son Kian. The couple, who rose to fame on reality TV, is openly sharing their experiences surrounding their new role as parents and discussing plans for future additions to their family.

Notably, during their first pregnancy, they had also hoped for a girl. Pierpaolo humorously mentioned Giulia’s research online to increase their chances of having a daughter, referencing tips about positions, which they playfully tried out. Unfortunately, their plans led to the birth of Kian, who is their first child together. Pierpaolo, already dad to eight-year-old Leonardo from his previous relationship with Ariadna Romero, is learning to navigate parenthood once again, now with more maturity. "I’m definitely a more mature dad now. I was 26 when I had Leonardo, and though I was responsible, I was younger and less experienced. With Kian, I know how to behave and what to expect as he grows up," he reflected.
Giulia opened up about their initial struggles after Kian's arrival, noting, "It’s going well; we’re managing. He’s quite the night owl, but we have fun. Today, he’s all about his well-being and nothing else." The name 'Kian' holds special meaning for the family. Pierpaolo explained, "I received a message on Instagram with this name, and I looked at its meaning, which is Persian. It’s also a nod to Giulia’s heritage. It felt perfect for us." This thoughtful choice showcases their desire to weave personal significance and cultural elements together for their child.
Reflecting on the labor process, Giulia discussed her hope for a natural delivery. She elaborated, "I wanted to deliver naturally, but it ended up being scheduled. Just one week before giving birth, my doctor indicated the baby weighed 4 kilograms. I weighed only 5 kilograms at birth, and my mother told me she faced many complications." This culmination of circumstances led Giulia to undergo a scheduled cesarean section. "I was completely anesthetized, so I didn’t feel anything at the time, but afterward, well... anyone who has delivered knows how it goes."
The couple' manage to keep Kian's birth date under wraps, deciding to maintain some privacy and enjoy those early moments away from public scrutiny. "Everyone knew I was expected to deliver by mid-January, and then we decided to schedule it and not tell anyone, making it something we wanted to experience just for ourselves," Giulia explained. To throw everyone off the scent, they even posted ‘fake’ photos on social media for several days. "We both enjoyed this time; we shared recorded 'fake' stories to keep our privacy, and everyone believed us," she added with laughter.
Upon their return home, the new family disappeared from the public eye for a brief period. "After leaving the hospital, we just went quiet. We were done with the photos and had video calls with our closest friends. Only later did we share with them what was happening; I needed to recover too." Giulia conveyed her thoughts on the challenges of motherhood, stating, "The labor was tough, but complaining isn’t the answer; as women, we have incredible strength. The love for our children overshadows everything else. I decided to breastfeed, and I’m happy with my decision, but it's amusing how Kian always chooses to eat when I want to eat too!"
