Giovanni Termini's new exhibition, titled The Sleep of the Puddle, will take place at the ME Vannucci Gallery in Pistoia from March 9 to May 1, 2025. This marks his return to the gallery two years since his last solo exhibition, continuing the artistic narrative built upon previous reflections found in shows such as La promessa del vuoto held at Pastificio Cerere, Rome, and his involvement in Senza mai sfiorire at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Palazzo Collicola, Spoleto.
Termini's exhibition will feature accompanying text by noted critic Saverio Verini, enriching the artistic experience presented through the exhibition. The central theme of The Sleep of the Puddle delves deep within the interconnections between artworks and their broader environmental contexts. Known for his explorations of the relationship between art and the environment, Termini showcases works enhanced by their interaction with the world around them.
The exhibition's title is significant; it evokes not just the imaginations of puddles but also reflects on the indefinable dynamic nature of Termini’s art. The idea of 'sleep' he proposes isn't the usual static notion, rather it symbolizes anticipation and stillness—inactive phases teeming with energy, primed for activation through their surroundings.
Opening day festivities will commence on Sunday, March 9, from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and the exhibition will remain accessible to the public through its structured schedule. Regular viewing hours are established from Wednesday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Giovanni Termini, born in Assoro, 1972, and currently based in Pesaro, has carved out a notable artistic career with exhibitions spanning several cities both within Italy and internationally. Noteworthy past solo outings include La promessa del vuoto at Pastificio Cerere, Da quale pulpito at the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo at Palazzo Fabroni, Pistoia; and Disarmed at the Fondazione Pescheria, Pesaro.
Group exhibitions also highlight Termini's versatility, illustrated by his participation in notable events such as Another world is possible at Centrul de Interes 4th, Cluj Napoca, Romania; and Art and Technology at the Lan Wan Museum, Qingdao, China, to mention just a few.
Through The Sleep of the Puddle, viewers will be invited to contemplate not only the art itself but also the relationship and energy exchanged between these creations and the environment, promising a compelling visual and philosophical experience for all who attend.
