Giovanni Pernice Triumphs On Italian Dance Show

After facing controversy, the dancer thanks fans and vows to marry partner Bianca Guaccero.

Giovanni Pernice has announced a triumphant return to the dance floor after winning the Italian version of Strictly Come Dancing, known as Ballando con le Stelle, alongside his partner Bianca Guaccero. Pernice, 34, expressed his delight on social media, sharing his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from fans, particularly those from the UK and Ireland, during what he described as 'a difficult year.'

This year has been tumultuous for Pernice, who departed from the British version of the show after allegations of abuse were raised by his former partner Amanda Abbington. Despite these challenges, he made his comeback on the Italian stage, captivating audiences alongside Guaccero, 43, who he also recently began dating. Their chemistry flourished throughout the competition, culminating in their victory during Saturday night's final.

Celebrated for their impressive routines, Pernice and Guaccero captivated viewers with their tango, quickstep, and other breathtaking performances. Reflecting on their win, Pernice took to Instagram to announce, "We did it !! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! after a difficult year I’m back ♥️." He thanked his loyal fan base, saying, "Thank you to each and every one of you... Your constant support has been unbelievable."

The couple’s win signifies more than just success on the dance floor; it marks Pernice's personal resurgence after the controversies earlier this year. He expressed strong appreciation for the emotional support he received, acknowledging the fans who voted for them, particularly from the UK. “We could see which part of the votes are coming from the UK, and you are being unbelievably amazing,” he said.

With romance blossoming between the dance partners, Pernice hinted at future commitments during the live finale. "If we win the show, I'll seriously think about it," he claimed, referencing the possibility of proposing to Guaccero post-competition. Guaccero echoed his sentiments, declaring, "It’s the first time I’ve won something in my life, and it’s wonderful." This shared sentiment highlights their connection both personally and professionally, enhancing their appearances on the show.

The finale brought intense competition, but the couple prevailed against Olympic champion Federica Pellegrini and her partner Pasquale La Rocca, as well as model Federica Nargi and Luca Favilla, who finished third. Judges praised their performances, with comments such as, "Your story is close to a fairy tale," made by judge Fabio Canino. Their artistic chemistry on stage not only won them the glittering trophy but also garnered them admiration from fans and judges alike.

Besides the personal victories, Pernice has publicly acknowledged his feelings for Guaccero, stating, "After a long time, there is someone who takes care of me and cares about me," highlighting how deeply he values their relationship. Guaccero has also spoken positively about their love, sharing, "He's goofy and crazy, and that's what made me fall in love with him."

Bianca's mother has even expressed her approval of their romance, emphasizing the growth and happiness her daughter has found throughout this experience. "My daughter has always been very sensitive, and I am proud of the woman she has become," she commented. Her support reinforces the strength of the bond between Pernice and Guaccero, both as partners on stage and as individuals.

Both stars will have ample opportunities to showcase their dance prowess moving forward, as their skills have drawn attention for potential international competitions. Carolyn Smith, the only professional dancer on the judging panel, suggested they should take part in the World Tango Championship next year, indicating their readiness to compete on bigger stages.

Reflecting on his time on Strictly Come Dancing, Pernice's remarkable performances—especially his silent dance with former partner Rose Ayling Ellis—have left memorable impressions on audiences. Motsi Mabuse, former judge on Strictly, noted how inspiring those moments continue to be, hinting at the legacy of his dancing.

With multiple accomplishments and personal milestones achieved, Giovanni Pernice is firmly back on track, both professionally and personally, with exciting prospects on the horizon for the beloved dancer. His gratitude toward supporters remains at the forefront, as he wraps up this chapter and looks forward to future endeavors.
