Giacomo Urtis Transforms Into Genny With Breast Augmentation

The cosmetic surgeon shares her journey of gender transition and family struggles

In a heartfelt revelation, Giacomo Urtis, a well-known cosmetic surgeon and television personality, has shared significant details about his gender transition journey, now embracing the name Genny. Recently, Genny underwent breast augmentation surgery, marking a pivotal step in aligning his external appearance with his true self.

In an interview with the magazine Chi, Genny opened up about her experiences, stating, "I have tried everything to arrive at what feels most natural for me. But I have come to this gradually; I have only been dressing as a woman for 2-3 years." This statement reflects a profound transformation that has taken place since 2013, when Urtis was primarily known as a cosmetic surgeon for celebrities.

Genny's journey has not only been physical but also deeply emotional. She described feeling a significant misalignment between her body and her true identity: "Inside, I always feel like myself, the person I have always felt I am. There was a disconnection between my body and who I was." Her transition has been accompanied by therapy, highlighting the complexity of her experience.

With the recent breast augmentation, Genny opted for a third cup size, expressing a desire for subtlety: "I wanted a third; nothing too big, especially since I frequent certain environments in Milan and didn't want to appear too provocative." This careful consideration showcases her awareness of societal perceptions as she navigates her transition.

However, the journey has not been without its challenges. Genny faced criticism and abandonment from some individuals in her life, including an ex-boyfriend who, she revealed, was deceitful and living with another woman in Sicily. "He belittled me and said, 'You're too much of a man,'" she recounted, emphasizing the emotional toll of such relationships during her transition.

The most profound pain, however, has come from her family. As the only child in a deeply Catholic family, Genny has struggled with her father's inability to accept her gender identity. "When he sees boys looking at me, he gets embarrassed; if I dress too much like a woman, it’s even worse," she shared. In contrast, her mother has been a source of support, even helping with practical matters like mending her stockings.

Reflecting on her father's reaction, Genny lamented, "They should be happy for me; I do so many things, I have opened clinics, I have appeared on television, I have even sung at high levels. I live with them, I take care of them, I provide for them in a villa in Milan. I am the perfect son, yet I have never received a 'good job' or 'well done' from my father. Always a sad face." This stark contrast between parental support and rejection has undoubtedly added to the emotional weight of her transition.

As Genny continues to navigate her identity, she remains uncertain about pursuing more radical steps in her transition. "Certain decisions require a lot of time to mature within," she said, indicating her need for psychological readiness before making further changes. For now, she is content with the gradual steps she has taken, even as she acknowledges the complexity of her situation: "It’s delicate to explain. Maybe I’m not ready to face everything psychologically just yet."

In a world where acceptance can sometimes be elusive, Genny’s story resonates with many who face similar struggles. Her journey highlights the importance of understanding and support during such a transformative time in one’s life. As she continues to embrace her true self, Genny Urtis serves as a reminder of the courage it takes to live authentically, despite the challenges that may arise.

Published on May 7, 2025, Genny's story is not just one of personal transformation but also a reflection of broader societal issues regarding acceptance, identity, and the journey toward self-realization.
