Genshin Impact Version 5.4 Update Brings New Characters And Events

The upcoming update features four banners, exciting new events, and quality of life upgrades for gamers.

Genshin Impact fans are gearing up for the eagerly awaited Version 5.4 update, titled Moonlight Amidst Dreams, set to launch on February 12, 2025. This patch promises exciting new content to invigorate the game’s ever-expanding universe.

Notably, the update will feature the highly anticipated debut of Yumemizuki Mizuki, the sole new 5-Star character. Described as both a psychiatrist and co-owner of one of Itizuma’s most famed hot springs, Mizuki’s arrival marks the fourth update since Natlan’s introduction. Her capabilities as an Anemo catalyst-user allow her to be an effective enabler for reaction-based damage, particularly enhancing Swirl effects.

Alongside Mizuki, fans can also welcome back three returning characters who have previously stolen the spotlight: Wriothesley, Furina, and Sigewinne. Wriothesley, known for his Cryo abilities, is poised to set the battlefield ablaze once again alongside Sigewinne, celebrated as one of the game’s best Hydro characters. Furina joins the fray boasting exceptional skills with Hydro sword-based mechanics, finding her place as one of the best Hydro-support characters.

The 5.4 update will kick off with dual banners: Phase 1 initiates on February 12, featuring Mizuki and Sigewinne, and will run until March 5. Afterward, players will see the introduction of Phase 2 banners, showcasing Furina and Wriothesley, continuing until March 25, just before the anticipated arrival of Version 5.5.

For those eager to acquire these potent characters, engaging with the new banners during Version 5.4 is key. The update offers one new 5-Star weapon, the Sunny Morning Sleep-In, Mizuki’s signature catalyst, adding another layer of strategy for players to explore.

But that's not all! Genshin Impact 5.4 will roll out five exciting limited-time events. Among them is the Enchanted Tales of the Mikawa Festival, the update's main event, centered on story-driven gameplay and vibrant mini-games. Rewards from this event include the new 4-Star polearm, Tamayuratei no Ohanashi, character materials, and coveted Primogems.

Another significant event, Traveler's Tales: Anthology Chapter, invites players to interact with beloved characters from previous updates—completing anecdotes and earning materials. Then there's the Realm of Tempered Valor, offering increasingly tough combat challenges, rewarding players with customization options such as the Saurian-themed Namecard.

For those with fishing interests, the Invasive Fish Wrangler presents cooperative fishing minigames, allowing players to accumulate rewards through teamwork. Completing the repertoire is the Reel Ad-Venture event, where players can edit footage for entertainment, unlocking additional character and weapon materials.

On the systemic side, this update enhances quality of life with several user-interface improvements, including automatic additions of materials for weapon upgrades and revamped gameplay filters for character and weapon menus. Players can now access the Tubby menu directly anywhere within the Serenitea Pot—making management easier than ever.

To sweeten the deal, Genshin Impact has also introduced new codes for keeping players stocked with Primogems, making it easier for them to wish for those sought-after characters on their banners.

With Mizuki's arrival and the packed content of Version 5.4, players have much to look forward to, ensuring their adventures across Teyvat remain dynamic and engaging. Be prepared to jump back to Itizuma and experience all the new features this update brings!
