Gala Caldirola Undergoes Lip Correction After Daughter's Remark

The former reality star shares her experience with lip correction to achieve a more natural look following her daughter's playful critique.

Gala Caldirola, the Spanish model and television personality, recently made headlines with her decision to undergo a lip correction procedure. This choice stunned many fans, especially since Caldirola has previously opted for hyaluronic acid injections multiple times to plump her lips. But this time, she sought to dissolve the existing fillers, leading to significant changes to her appearance.

On January 2nd, Caldirola shared her experience on social media, posting about her recent visit to the clinic where she underwent the procedure. "I just left my dear doctor; I fixed my lips, and here’s how they turned out. Thoughts?" she wrote, showcasing her noticeably swollen upper lip. This immediate aftermath generated concern among her followers, who questioned whether the changes were permanent.

According to reports from Las Últimas Noticias, the primary motivation behind Caldirola's decision stemmed from her young daughter's innocent comment, saying her mother's lips resembled "a sausage." This remark led her to seek professional advice at High Care clinic, where the staff noted her lips had lost their defined shape due to the migration of the hyaluronic acid previously injected.

Dr. Daniel Muñoz, the surgeon who handled Caldirola's case, explained the complications associated with excessive hyaluronic acid. "When injected too much, it begins migrating to undesired areas, resulting in what many call 'duck lips,'" he explained, illustrating the common risks of lip enhancement procedures.

Having injected hyaluronic acid since she was 21, the now-32-year-old felt it was time to start anew after years of using fillers. She expressed hesitation about removing the fillers, fearing she might not like her appearance without them. "I realized my Cupid's bow was more pronounced than I initially thought... I was scared to see myself without the product, but it was the best decision I could make," she shared.

After the initial dissolution procedure using hyaluronidase—which is used to break down hyaluronic acid—Caldirola experienced considerable swelling, leading to her posting videos on Instagram, which sparked extensive discussions among her followers. She commented, "The product causes significant swelling, and I thought there was barely any filler left, but I still had quite a bit. There was no pain, only aesthetics involved. I know it was shocking at first, but it went down quickly."

Despite her fears and the dramatic before-and-after visuals, Caldirola expressed satisfaction with her natural look following the procedure. She emphasized her happiness with how they turned out: "I love them; there's no need to say they look very natural, more hydrated and healthy."

On January 6th, shortly after the initial corrections, she decided to reintroduce just half a milligram of hyaluronic acid. This lesser amount, she noted, was only "a tiny bit" compared to previous treatments, aiming to achieve balance and avoid the extravagant volume she had before. "Before, I had the lips like sausage, but after this last tweak, they look so natural," she remarked with relief.

Caldirola's story resonates with many who grapple with standards of beauty and the pressures of maintaining certain appearances. It's interesting how something as innocent as a child's comment can catalyze such significant personal decisions.
