ELWAVE, a French deep-tech company specializing in electromagnetic sensors, is set to deploy its innovative Tetrapulse sensor in Ukrainian waters to detect unexploded munitions and mines, part of a broader initiative to support Ukraine's reconstruction efforts.
The project, spearheaded by the French companies Exail and Geomines, has received funding from the French government as a part of their commitment to aid Ukraine following its ongoing conflict and the impact on its waterways.
Running on ELWAVE’s CEDAR (Controlled Electric Detection And Ranging) technology, the Tetrapulse sensor is designed to effectively identify both metal and non-metal munitions in challenging conditions, such as low visibility or when these hazards are buried beneath the seabed. Traditional methods, including acoustic, magnetometer, and video-based techniques, often struggle in these scenarios, making the adoption of this advanced technology crucial.
